Our Story: The Temos Journey

At Temos International Healthcare Accreditation, we’re redefining what it means to deliver excellence in healthcare. Founded in 2010, Temos helps hospitals, clinics, and medical travel coordinators find their highest performance levels. Accredited clients deliver excellent, value-based services to domestic and international patients.

By working collaboratively, Temos encourages innovation and avoids the “one size fits all” approach to accreditation, which does not work across cultures for providers or patients. The purpose of Temos accreditation is to neutrally assess, evaluate, and validate the quality of medical and non-medical services, to identify the potential for improvements, and to optimize medical quality as well as the quality of services in the Applying Organization with the overall aim to assure a continuum of care for patients. Temos Assessors’ Advisory Board (TAAB) 2026–2027 Holds First Meeting

In December, Temos International held the first meeting of the newly appointed Temos Assessors’ Advisory Board (TAAB) for the 2026–2027 term, marking an important step in strengthening the governance and continuous development of Temos accreditation programmes.

The TAAB serves as an independent advisory body to Temos management, assuring that Temos maintains a robust, overarching framework for the development and continuous improvement of its international healthcare accreditation programmes. This includes the regular review and updating of Temos standards, as well as ensuring a controlled framework for assessor selection, approval, development, initial and continuous training, and evaluation to satisfy the accreditation services’ requirements of professional competence, ethical values, and impartiality.
Through its advisory role, the TAAB also contributes to the development of new accreditation programmes, supports assessor training objectives and agendas, and promotes a culture of open reporting, continuous professional development, and dissemination of good practices across the global assessor community.

Aseel Medical Care Hospital Shares Their Experience with Temos

2025 with Temos

As we reflect on 2025, Temos proudly celebrates another year of meaningful growth, global collaboration, and continued commitment to advancing healthcare quality worldwide.

This year, we continued expanding our accreditation footprint across Türkiye, Georgia, Egypt, Panama City, North Macedonia amongst others, while achieving several important firsts, including the first Temos-accredited tertiary care hospital for medical tourism in Saudi Arabia, the first psychiatric and mental health unit to receive Temos accreditation, the first hair transplant clinic accredited by Temos, and our first accreditation in Iraq.

A major milestone in 2025 was Temos achieving ISQua EEA accreditation for our Surveyor Training Programme, reaffirming our commitment to high-quality, internationally recognized evaluation. We also strengthened strategic partnerships through key MoUs, including collaborations with the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), the Center for Licensing and Accreditation of Medical Organizations (CLAMO) in Uzbekistan, and the Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI), while being officially recognized by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention as an approved international accreditation body.

Throughout the year, Temos actively engaged with the global healthcare community through major international forums and events. In 2025, we grew our global presence with 18 regional offices worldwide and welcomed new members to our Assessors team and the Customer Care team.

Lastly, we also brought together our global community through the Annual Regional Office Meeting and in-person assessor training, further strengthening competencies and collaboration across our global assessor community.

TEMOS India Strategic Roundtable

TEMOS India recently successfully convened a Strategic Roundtable on Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Collaboration in New Delhi, bringing together national leaders from healthcare, policy, and industry bodies to shape a quality-driven and globally aligned roadmap for India’s medical tourism future.

The roundtable opened with strategic perspectives from TEMOS India Advisory Board Members Dr. Girdhar J. Gyani and Dr. R. V. Karanjekar, who emphasized the need for India to move beyond fragmented initiatives toward a cohesive national medical tourism ecosystem rooted in quality, ethics, transparency, and patient safety.

Representing a global perspective, Dr. Claudia Mika, Founder & CEO of TEMOS International, shared insights on evolving international patient expectations and the role of accreditation, cross-border collaboration, and global platforms in strengthening trust and healthcare excellence worldwide.

Dr. Zainab Zaidi, Country Director of TEMOS India, outlined the strategic vision for TEMOS India. She further highlighted that India’s leadership in medical tourism must be driven by quality differentiation, strong ethical frameworks, and global engagement, supported by international forums and regionally aligned capacities that enable a truly global-ready ecosystem.

A key highlight was the formalization of strategic collaborations with leading national institutions, including the Services Export Promotion Council, Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations, Association of Healthcare Providers (India), the Institution of Fire Engineers (India), and Yashoda Medcity. Further strengthening regional outreach and implementation, Terms of Reference (ToR) agreements were formally signed and recognized with Regional Partners to support the structured dissemination of TEMOS standards across India.

According to the World Health Organization, around 1 in every 10 patients is harmed in healthcare, resulting in over 3 million deaths each year due to unsafe care. In Episode 1, Mr. Henning Kalwa, Temos Representative for Southeast Asia, based in Bangkok, Thailand, is joined by Dr. Asaad Riad, MD, PAHM, MHP, Temos Regional Partner and Office Manager for Egypt and North Africa.
