Meet Dr. Nino Mikava, Temos Assessor from Georgia

Dr. Nino Mikava (MD, MBA, PhD) is a healthcare specialist, consultant, and researcher with over 23 years of experience in healthcare management, insurance, and digital health. Her career bridges medical practice, executive leadership, and academia — reflecting her strong commitment to healthcare quality and innovation.

She has held senior roles in Georgia’s leading healthcare and insurance organizations, including Deputy General Director, Board Member, and Director of the Healthcare Association of Georgia, as well as General Director of a holding of outpatient clinics.

Currently, Dr. Mikava serves as a Temos International Healthcare Accreditation Assessor and Approved Consultant in Healthcare Quality. She is also the Founder and Director of HEMACO, a consultancy specializing in healthcare management, digital transformation, medical tourism, and quality accreditation.

In addition, she leads national and international projects as Head of Research and Communications at NCD Alliance Georgia, with her work recognized by the United Nations Interagency Task Force (UNIATF) for advancing community-based NCD prevention.

As Associate Professor and Head of the Bachelor’s Management Program at Business and Technology University, Dr. Mikava teaches, researches, and mentors future leaders in healthcare management.

Meet Dr Thuppil Venkatesh, advisor of the Temos Regional Office in India

At Temos, we are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare accreditation programs to healthcare facilities and medical travel coordinators worldwide. We have a dedicated team of experts to help ensure all our clients receive the support and resources they require.

Dr. Thuppil Venkatesh, widely known as the "Lead Man of India," is Professor Emeritus at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore. He serves as CEO and Director of the Foundation for Quality India (FQI) and Director of the National Referral Centre for Lead Projects in India (NRCLPI).

As National Chairman of the Indian Society for Lead Awareness and Research (InSLAR), he has led major public health initiatives, including the introduction of unleaded petrol in India (March 2000) and regulatory limits on lead in paints. With decades of service in quality and accreditation, Dr. Thuppil Venkatesh is a Lead Assessor for NABL & NABH under the Quality Council of India, and has served on accreditation bodies including DAC (Dubai), NABL, and NABH. He currently chairs the Laboratory Accreditation Board of Nepal and advises key healthcare organizations such as CAHO and AHPI.

Internationally, he is the Chairman of the Chronic Hypoxia Society, Visiting Professor at Zubeita University (Bolivia), and Visiting Scholar at the University of Cincinnati (USA). He also serves as Technical Adviser to UNIDO and the World Health Organization(WHO).

Dr. Thuppil Venkatesh is a recipient of numerous honors, including the International Award for Science, Truth and Honor, the Arya Bhatta Award, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from CAHO & QIMPRO Platinum awardee for 2024. He has published over 350 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.

🌍 TEMOS International at the Global Health Exhibition – Riyadh, KSA

TEMOS International CEO Dr. Claudia Mika and Dr. Shaimaa Elatwey, Country Director for KSA, proudly represented TEMOS International at the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh — an inspiring platform bringing together global healthcare leaders to shape the future of healthcare innovation and collaboration.

During the visit, TEMOS held strategic discussions with leading national institutions, including the Ministry of Health (MOH), Council of Health Insurance (CHI), the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), leading healthcare providers in KSA, and the Health Tourism Association.

The meetings focused on building national healthcare capacity through TEMOS accreditation as well as training and certification programs in Medical Tourism, International Patient Management, Cultural Sensitivity, and Sustainability. Furthermore, TEMOS engaged with the Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) Organization to advance and integrate the principles of Value-Based Medical Travel, fully aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

TEMOS also explored academic collaboration with Fakeeh University, fostering opportunities for knowledge exchange, joint research, and the continuous enhancement of healthcare education quality.

In parallel, Dr. Mika and Dr. Elatwey met with the TEMOS Assessor Team in KSA to review ongoing projects, discuss the national operational plan, and further strengthen local capacity in line with TEMOS’ global standards.
