Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy Retreat

Ayurveda is said to have come from the God of Creation, Brahma, in Indian mythology. According to Hindu mythology, Brahma wishes to give the gods a glimpse of Ayurvedic knowledge in order to lessen the pain of his creation. The diagnosis and selection of herbal treatments are key components of the success of ayurvedic treatment.

The Ayurvedic method acknowledges the basic significance of assessing a patient through direct observation. Treatment should start as soon as the imbalance in doshas is identified as the diagnosis. To correct the doshic imbalance faults, ayurvedic therapy begins with minor lifestyle and dietary changes. Every treatment plan is carefully tailored to each patient’s specific requirements, taking into account their lifestyle, body, and any particular health issues.

The Ayurveda and Yoga Retreat located 2 hours drive away from Kochi International Airport, Kerala India. To experience the relinquished Ayurveda heritage of Madukkakuzhy Family along with natural divinity, they established 2 centres - LAKE & MOUNTAINS and HEALING ISLAND in the scenic location of kudayathoor. The centres are located on the banks of a clean rainwater lake, surrounded by high mountains which harmoniously form a healing field with authentic Ayurveda.

Kudayathoor is a pollution free, small scenic village located at Thodupuzha – Puliyanmala road in Idukki district of Kerala. Kudayathoor village stands as a perfect abode of peace. “The union of the Seer and the Seen, causes avoidance of this suffering.”
- YSP 2.17

The way to avoid suffering is to be liberated. The Seen’, is the individual human being. The ‘Seer’, is the Self, the soul, or God.

The union of the Seer and the Seen, is the union of the individual with the Divine. This union is sometimes called Self-realization.

We make our Divine Self real in our experience. This is the true meaning of yoga. Yoga means union. It is the union of the individual with the Divine.

Many masters have said the same thing—liberation is the end of our suffering. We suffer because of our ego. Egoism or “I-ness’, is one of the afflictions mentioned earlier. The larger the ego, the more the suffering. Conversely, the smaller the ego, the more joy we experience in our lives. It is not external circumstances that are the cause of our suffering, but our inner reaction to them. It is our ego that is judgemental and has strong likes and dislikes.

A liberated person has found the bliss of their Divine Self. They no longer need anything from the external world, and the external world ceases to have any hold on them. Then, there is no further possibility of suffering.

The Parthasarathy Temple is a 6th-century Hindu Vaishnavite temple dedicated to Vishnu in Chennai, India. Located in the neighbourhood of Thiruvallikeni, the temple is glorified in the Naalayira Divya Prabandham, the early medieval Tamil literature canon of the Alvar saints from the 6th to 9th centuries CE and is classified as among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu.

The name ‘Parthasarathy’ means the ‘charioteer of Arjuna’, referring to Krishna’s role as a charioteer to Arjuna in the epic Mahabharata.

It was originally built by the Pallavas in the 6th century by king Narasimhavarman I. The temple has icons of five forms of Vishnu: Yoga Narasimha, Rama, Gajendra Varadaraja, Ranganatha, and Krishna as Parthasarathy. The temple is one of the oldest structures in Chennai. There are shrines for Vedavalli Thayar, Ranganatha, Rama, Gajendra Varadar, Narasimha, Andal, Hanuman, Alvars, Ramanuja, Swami Manavala Mamunigal and Vedanthachariar. The temple subscribes to Vaikhanasa agama and follows Tenkalai tradition. There are separate entrances and dhvajastambhas for the Parthasarathy and Yoga Narasimha temples. The gopuram (towers) and mandapas (pillars) are decorated with elaborate carvings, a standard feature of South Indian Temple Architecture.

Whisking all members of Kumar Yoga Berlin and all yogis including family & friends a wonderful prosperous Tamil New Year.

Tamil New year also called Puthandu (புத்தாண்டு) or Tamil varusha pirappu (தமிழ் வருட பிறப்பு) is the celebration of the Tamil New Year as per the Tamil calendar. Tamil New Year marks the beginning of Chithirai month, the beginning month of the Tamil solar calendar and Puthandu marks the onset of the new calendric year.

On the Gregorian calendar, Tamil New Year falls most likely on the 14th of April. This day is celebrated with immense enthusiasm and fervour in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and also in places outside India that has significant Tamil population.

In Kerala it is celebrated as Vishu, in Orissa as Pana Sankranti, in West Bengal as Poila Boishak, in Assam as Bihu and in Punjab this day is observed as Vaisakhi. These festivals coincide with the Mesha Sankranti that marks the beginning of the New Year as per the Indian Solar Calendar.

2024 NEW YEAR YOGIC IGNITION

A Workshop to Set Your Sankalpa (Intention) by Krishna Kumar Krishnan

Saturday 6th JAN 2024
16:00h - 18:00h
YogaSky

USC members are Welcome!

Have you already set your new year’s resolutions? You’re still on time! But instead of choosing resolutions you most probably won’t follow through the whole year, why not give them a “yogic” twist and set a Sankalpa (intention) instead. Dig deeper this year to find a genuine purpose!

What Is A Sankalpa?

A Sankalpa is a positive resolve usually made before a yoga practice or meditation. It’s a commitment you make to yourself but the main difference with a New Year’s resolution is that a Sankalpa starts from the radical premise that you already are who you need to be to be happy or to reach your Dharma. On the other hand, the usual New Year’s resolution often starts with a negative perception of ourselves: Quit smocking = I’m not healthy, lose weight = I’m too fat, etc. They are usually made from the ego and that is why they don’t last.

Write me a message through my website www.kumar-yoga.com for a special 10% code.
