It is with a mix of gratitude and regret that we share an important update regarding our beloved project, RAHM - Investing in Global Future LGBTIQ+ Leaders and their Community.

We want to start by expressing our deepest gratitude to each of you – the wonderful personalities who made RAHM what it was. You were the beating heart of this project. Without your commitment, passion, and vision, RAHM would never have reached such heights. Each of you contributed something unique, and for that, we will always be grateful.

Despite our collective efforts, we've faced challenges in securing the necessary funds and sponsors for the 2024 contest. In light of this, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily put the project on hiatus, effective from the 1st of February.

For a more detailed discussion on this matter, we will send a more detailed message in our RAHM newsletter today. We encourage you to read it for a comprehensive understanding of our current situation and future plans.

This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the impact it may have on our vibrant community. However, we remain committed to the vision and goals of RAHM, actively exploring avenues to resume our mission.

We express our heartfelt gratitude for the support you've shown thus far. In the interim, we want to assure you that the private LinkedIn and Facebook groups will remain open. We encourage you to stay connected, share insights, and foster the strong community bonds that make RAHM special.

Eric brings a unique and creative flair to our community. He's the visionary behind "Hardwearables," a q***r subversive clothing label that adds a vibrant touch to the fashion world. But there's more to Eric than just fashion – he's a culinary enthusiast who loves to cook, an avid gardener, and a gracious host known for his delightful dinner parties. 🌍👗🍴

In the RAHM community, Eric is eager to explore what the community values and desires in mentorship programs. As you are aware, we work on a few sister projects - especially STICKS & STONES, the LGBTIQ+ Job & Careerfair in Europe. SXS is like the big sister that throws awesome parties, invites all the cool kids on the block, and gives you the outfit you've always been too nervous to wear but look badass in! 🎉 🌟

This year's celebration is right around the corner - on the 1st of July. As per tradition, we will representing the LGBTIQ+ Leadership Community and we are inviting all our fellow RAHMers to join too! 🤗

Join us in welcoming our RAHMer of the month Lisa Ducret (she/her)! 😍

Lisa is a professional, ambitious member of RAHM. She was born in Annecy, France and is currently living in Berlin. She is an empathy queen and a team player, supporting everyone around her! You'll find her working as a Multimedia Journalist at the dpa (German Newswire). 💌

Lisa's mother tongue is French, but she also speaks German and English fluently, while trying to improve her beginner Spanish. 😎
As an ambassador, she co-organizes the Proudr LGBTIQ+ After Works. Lisa is also practicing a Mentor role at LeBe - Lesbisch im Beruf, sharing her skills and wisdom with the mentees. 🤝

Lisa would like to get to know LGBTIQ+ people managing their career to leadership positions, while wanting to give visibility and inspiration to the community as well. She also wants to learn about modern and inclusive leadership skills. 🤗

Lisa is good at welcoming and including people in a group, network or community. She can share a lot about her work experience in the media as an expat in Germany - and she is a very good motivator! 🙌

We all know that one person at work — the one who never misses an opportunity to pump up his own work.

A braggart, a blowhard, and annoyingly successful. Meanwhile, you keep your head down, work hard, and keep the faith that your accomplishments will get noticed and you'll get the recognition you deserve.

Raise your hand if you resonate with this saying:
“If your work speaks for itself, you shouldn’t have to.”

Unfortunately, unless you're hoping to build up a stash of karma points, you're not doing yourself any favors by keeping quiet.

Like it or not, promoting yourself at work is a necessary part of your career. You don't have to be a blowhard, but you do need to be able to let your co-workers and your bosses know what you do, what you excel in, and what you accomplish in your job.

If you're not sure how to start, here are some tips to help you make yourself more visible at work without annoying your entire office.

1. Talk about it with those who you think are doing it “right”
2. Share your accomplishments and advocate for your contributions
3. Promote your expertise outside of work
4. Provide support to colleagues and peers
5. Keep your portfolio up-to-date
6. Build cross-department connections
7. Take on a role in an employee network or resource group
