Rumänisches Kulturinstitut Berlin RKI ist eines der 19 rumänischen Kulturinstitute, die weltweit tätig sind. Das Rumänische Kulturinstitut wurde 1999 gegründet.

Es ist eines der 19 rumänischen Kulturinstitute, die derzeit auch in Brüssel, Istanbul, Madrid, Prag, Stockholm, Venedig, Peking, Budapest, Lissabon, New York, Rom, Tel Aviv, Wien, Kisinau, London, Paris, Szeged, und Warschau tätig sind. Seit 2003 ist das Rumänische Kulturinstitut Mitgründer der Gemeinschaft der Europäischen Kulturinstitute in Berlin (GEK) und seit 2006 Mitglied des EUNIC Netzwerkes (European National Institutions of Culture).

🤩Wir blicken auf die Tournee „Way to Kölner Philharmonie“ zurück:

Die drei ausverkauften Konzerte des Romanian Symphony Orchestra unter der Leitung von Maestro Gabriel Bebeșelea in Köln, Koblenz und Erlangen boten dem deutschen Publikum ein klangliches Fest von außergewöhnlicher künstlerischer Strahlkraft. Die Veranstaltung, eingebettet in das Jubiläum der 145-jährigen diplomatischen Beziehungen zwischen Rumänien und der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, war nicht nur ein bedeutender kultureller Moment, sondern auch ein Ausdruck höchsten musikalischen Anspruchs und feinsten künstlerischen Empfindens.✨

Die Tournee „Way to Kölner Philharmonie“ wurde von Artexim, dem rumänischen Kulturministerium und der UCIMR finanziert und fand in Partnerschaft mit der Botschaft von Rumänien in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, dem Rumänischen Kulturinstitut Berlin, dem Generalkonsulat von Rumänien in Bonn sowie der Nationalen Musikakademie „Gheorghe Dima“ statt.

Last week’s screening of "Whose Dog Am I?" at CHB - Collegium Hungaricum Berlin brought together a great crowd of film lovers 🎬🐾

The documentary’s playful mix of humour, irony, and metaphor sparked plenty of smiles and reflection. What begins as a quest to find the “perfect” dog breed ends with a simple but powerful idea: the best dog is the one already beside us - a gentle reminder of how we might treat each other with a bit more kindness 💛

Der vergangene Donnerstag in der Berliner Philharmonie war etwas ganz Besonderes ✨.

Das Philharmonische Orchester von Târgu Mureș erfüllte den Saal mit Emotionen, Anmut und dem unverkennbaren Geist der Heimat. Von Enescus „Rumänischer Rhapsodie“ über die Energie Piazzollas bis hin zur Brillanz Bartóks sprach jede Note von Verbundenheit - zwischen Kulturen, Menschen und Herzen 🎶.

Maestro Pablo Boggiano führte das Orchester mit außergewöhnlicher Sensibilität und teilte durch die Musik seine Zuneigung zu Rumänien und Târgu Mureș. Es war ein Abend, der erinnerte, wie sehr Musik verbinden kann, egal woher wir kommen ❤️.

Ein herzliches Dankeschön an alle, die uns heute Abend begleitet haben, an unsere Organisatoren, unsere Partner und an all jene, die wegen der rumänischen Musik den Weg hierher gefunden haben.

Genau diese Musik wird nun in die Welt hinaus und schon bei vielen im Herzen getragen. Herzlichen Dank. 🌍

We are intensely preparing the exhibition “Polisticks. (/s-)actions, /sanctions, /sections”, created in collaboration with SAC. After the vernissage on Thursday, we invite you to join our guided tours this weekend!
Come for a closer look at the exhibition, explore the works together with the curatorial team and several of the participating artists, and get a closer sense of the ideas and stories behind each work.

Wir gratulieren Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Rumänischen Kultur und Tradition e.V. - GeFoRum München herzlich zu 20 Jahren kulturellem Austausch zwischen Rumänien und Deutschland unter dem Motto „Împreună - Zusammen“! 🎉

Zwei Jahrzehnte kultureller Begegnung zwischen Rumänien und Deutschland - 20 Jahre voller Engagement, Brücken und Begegnungen.
GeFoForum hat in dieser Zeit Großartiges geleistet: Menschen verbunden und gezeigt, dass Kultur der stärkste Ausdruck gemeinsamer Identität ist. Es war eine Freude, diesen Meilenstein gemeinsam zu feiern.

🤩We’re getting closer to the opening of „Polisticks. (/s-)actions, /sanctions, /sections” - an exhibition in collaboration with SAC that marks ten years since the opening of our art gallery. We’re glad to rise to this special occasion with a rich line-up of invited artists coming from three countries - Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and Germany.

Let’s meet the artists:
Justin Baroncea & Cristian Matei, Olivia Berckemeyer, Floriama Cândea, Sergiu Chihaia, Nicolae Comanescu, Iulian Cristea, Suzana Dan, Dimitrie Luca Gora, Dumitru Gorzo, Ioana Gorzo, Gregor Hildebrandt, Andreea Ilie, Ana Ionescu, Albert Kaan, Hortensia Mi Kafchin, Sorin Prodea, Haleh Redjaian, Mircea Suciu, Philip Topolovac, Dan Vezentan, and Jorinde Voigt.

We’ll soon share more about each of them - but you’ll also be able to discover their works directly in the exhibition, opening on Thursday, November 13, from 18:30 to 21:00, at the RKI Berlin Art Space.

„Polisticks” is a collective and subjective meditation on what it means to be European today - exploring cultural and political dynamics, independent micro-structures, and the ways in which art reflects both individual and shared identities.

In ihrem sehr persönlichen Dokumentarfilm lädt Alexandra Bidian ihre Mutter und Schwester zu einer Reise nach Rumänien ein - in das Heimatland ihres verstorbenen Vaters. Was einst der Ort der Sommer ihrer Kindheit war, wird nun zu einer Landschaft der Erinnerung und der Entdeckung: ein Versuch, das Schweigen zu durchbrechen, die Vergangenheit neu zu betrachten und den Mann zu verstehen, der so viel schrieb - und so vieles verschwieg.

Mit Archivmaterial, Briefen, Familienerinnerungen und Interviews zeichnet Bidian die komplexen Verbindungen zwischen dem Leben ihres Vaters, seinem politischen Engagement und ihrer eigenen Identität nach. Entstanden ist ein intimer filmischer Roadtrip - ein berührender Brief an einen Vater und an die unerzählten Geschichten, die uns prägen.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the RKI Berlin Art Space in Mitte, we are pleased to present “Polisticks. (/s-)actions, /sanctions, /sections”, created in collaboration with SAC Gallery in Bucharest.

The exhibition brings together a remarkable group of artists from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and Germany, exploring what it means to be European today - within shifting cultural, political, and emotional geographies.

Through the three conceptual dimensions - (/s-)actions, /sanctions, /sections - the exhibition reflects on the fragments that shape identity, the actions that define our shared present, and the visible or silent sanctions that set the limits and values of our societies. It is a statement about connection, empathy, and togetherness.
