Ali Kalantary  and I warmly invite you to a special Sema Session on December 14th at Studio2 & Media Library for Dance and Theatre 

From 5pm onwards we will fill the space with live music, poetry and whirling.

This is Berlin Whirling’s last event of 2025.

Mark your calendars and join us for this truly unique get together under the stars of Sufism.

🌀 Helpers against dizziness and nausea 🌀

The most asked question I get when it comes to whirling is, if I don’t get dizzy. And I don’t anymore.

In whirling it is important to listen to your own body, to the information it gives you and to the possibilities it inhabits:

1. The erect and extended body: Whirling with a straight but loose spine (as if you were hanging from the earth) helps you to open up and to relax into the movement.

2. The sensation to feel your feet on the ground and therewith the ever-present grounding through the gravitational force. This is also helpful when you think you loose the sense of where you are.

3. Breathing: To actively breathe is vital for the whirling practice. Especially if you intend to whirl for a long/er period of time. Rhythmical breathing is helpful here as it supports the repetitive movement of whirling.

🌪️ Whirling Session mit Live-Musik 🎵

Am Sonntag, den 26. Oktober bekommen wir wieder kraftvolle, friedensstiftende Unterstützung von Wassim Mukdad und seiner Oud.

Wer im Juni bereits dabei war weiß, was für eine kollektive Energie im Zusammenspiel mit Wassim kreiert wird. Lasst uns auch am 26.10. zusammenkommen und im Miteinander für Solidarität und Frieden drehen.
