A Father’s Fight: Help Us Through MS and Hard Times

💙 Dear friends,

Life has become very challenging for me and my family. My Multiple Sclerosis has worsened in the past months, which means I can work less and earn less. On top of that, a massive and urgent home repair (our bathroom completely broke down) is pushing us to the edge financially.

I am a proud father of two boys. More than anything, I want to give them stability, love, and a safe home – even while fighting this illness. Right now, I cannot do it alone.

👉 That’s why I’ve started a fundraising campaign. The donations will go toward urgent repairs and helping us get through this difficult period.

Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a huge difference for us. Even just sharing this post helps.

💛 From the bottom of my heart: thank you for your support.

✨ “Comparison is the thief of joy.” ✨
..It’s not only about comparing ourselves with others.
Sometimes, we steal our own happiness by comparing today with yesterday.

Maybe life used to look different. Maybe you were stronger, faster, or had fewer challenges. But the truth is: you are not living in the past—you are living here and now.

Joy grows when we stop measuring today against what was, or against what others seem to have.
Gratitude for the present moment opens the door to peace, strength, and even new possibilities. 🌱

💡 Instead of asking, “Why isn’t it like before?” try asking, “What can I appreciate today?”

Your joy is not behind you—it’s within you, right now. 💖

✨ Don’t dream it. Be it.
A tattoo. A decision. A reminder to become who you truly are.

I first heard this phrase — “Don’t dream it, be it” — in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
It wasn’t just a line in a campy, cult classic.
It was a message hiding in plain sight:
👉 Stop fantasizing. Start becoming.
Live boldly. Authentically. Fearlessly.

That phrase stayed with me for years.
Until one day, during a short trip to Berlin, something clicked:
“This is where I need to live. This is where I become who I’m meant to be.”

I still had a life back in Italy — work, responsibilities — but I didn’t want to let that moment of clarity fade.
So I did something to make it permanent.
I tattooed the words “Don’t dream it, be it” on my chest.
In Gothic script. Reversed.
So that others would struggle to read it...
But when I looked in the mirror, it would speak directly to me.

It became my silent compass.

Back in Italy, I began planning. Searching. Shaping a new life.
And less than a year later, I made the leap and moved to Berlin.
It’s been over 15 years.
And that tattoo still reminds me:
👉 Don’t get stuck in wishing.
👉 Don’t just dream about change.
👉 Be it.

🎬 Like the film that inspired it — messy, strange, and brave —
we all have the power to step into the chaos and claim our truth.

This moment — this present — is a gift.
Unwrap it. Live it. Be it.

🌟 The Present Is a Gift 🎁
That’s why it’s called the present.

Have you ever noticed how in English, the word “present” means both “now” and “a gift”?
This is no accident — it’s a beautiful reminder built into the language itself.

And it’s not just English!

In Italian, presente means both "now" and "gift".
In Portuguese too: presente is the word for both “this moment” and “a present”.
In French, présent once meant “gift”, and poets still use it that way.

Across cultures and centuries, we’ve been quietly whispering to ourselves:

This moment — right now — is a gift.
Don’t miss it. Don’t waste it. Be in it.

🎈 Today, take a deep breath.
Feel the warmth of this very instant.
Don’t rush to the future. Don’t dwell on the past.

🌱 Be here. Be grateful.
Unwrap the gift of this day.

This post is a little more personal than usual. 💭

When living with a chronic illness like multiple sclerosis, it’s easy to fall into the habit of attributing every little symptom to the disease.
“Hey, it’s probably the MS again, right?” we often think. And yes, something as simple as a cold or fever can hit harder when you’re already managing MS.

But this time, it wasn’t MS.

I started having intense dizziness that lasted for more than a day. Everyone — including me — assumed it was a relapse. But after being admitted to the hospital, the diagnosis was different: an inflamed vestibular nerve. Just that.

Still, it meant more treatment, more corticosteroids, and more physical and emotional strain. MS doesn’t exactly help in dealing with other illnesses.

But this experience reminded me of something simple but powerful:
👉 Not everything is MS. Not everything is what we fear it might be.

Sometimes, life throws us a surprise guest — one we didn’t invite, but still have to deal with. And yes, it pushed me close to the edge of my positivity. MS was already flaring up, and this felt like the last thing I needed.

Add to that the worry in my kids' eyes when they saw their dad in the hospital... and yeah, it’s been a tough few days.

So here I am, slowly finding my balance again.
Reorganizing life, leaning on loved ones, and reminding myself — even now — that challenges don’t cancel out our strength.

🎶 Like Gloria Gaynor once sang: “I will survive.”
📖 Or in the words of Norman Vincent Peale: “Change your thoughts and you change your world.”

This is just another chapter. And we write it with courage. 💛

Stay positive, stay patient, and never stop believing in your strength.
We’ve got this — together.

🌟 Shift Your Words, Shift Your Mindset 🌟

There’s a subtle but powerful difference between “making sacrifices” and “doing things gladly.”
And sometimes, simply choosing one phrase over the other can change the way we feel and the energy we project.

Of course, some things in life are true sacrifices — they cost us effort, time, or comfort. But often, what we call a “sacrifice” is actually something we choose to do with love and joy.

For example:
I often hear people say, “I sacrifice so much for my children.”
But in my case, I can honestly say: “I gladly give my time for my children.”
It doesn’t feel like a sacrifice — it feels like a privilege. A joy. A conscious choice.

✨ The words we use matter. They shape our mindset and our experience.

“Do small things with great love.” — Mother Teresa

“The manner of giving is worth more than the gift.” — Pierre Corneille

Next time you catch yourself saying, “I sacrifice for...” ask yourself:
👉 Could I reframe this as something I do with pleasure or purpose?

You might be surprised how this simple shift can lighten your heart and elevate your day. 💛

“Happiness is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one does.” — J.M. Barrie

🌿 What Does “Rest” Really Mean? 🌿
And why do we need more of it than we think?

We often associate rest with sleep, but rest is not just about closing your eyes — it's about healing all parts of you. Whether you're navigating a chronic illness like multiple sclerosis, burnout, or simply the stress of daily life, rest is essential.

✨ You don’t have to be sick to need rest.
You just have to be human. ✨

This image beautifully breaks down the 7 types of rest we all need. And here’s what they can look like in everyday life:

1️⃣ Physical Rest
💤 Passive: Taking a nap when your body begs for one.
🤸‍♂️ Active: Doing gentle yoga or taking a slow walk to stretch your muscles.

2️⃣ Sensory Rest
📵 Turning off notifications, stepping away from screens, or dimming the lights after a long day.

3️⃣ Emotional Rest
💬 Talking to a friend who listens without judgment, or journaling to release what you’ve been holding in.

4️⃣ Spiritual Rest
🧘 Sitting quietly in nature, meditating, or volunteering to feel connected to something greater than yourself.

5️⃣ Mental Rest
🧠 Taking a short break from problem-solving. Writing down your thoughts instead of keeping them all in your head.

6️⃣ Creative Rest
🌄 Watching the sunset, visiting a gallery, or listening to music that moves your soul.

7️⃣ Social Rest
🤗 Spending time with people who recharge you instead of drain you — or choosing solitude when you need it.

💭 We live in a world that glorifies hustle — but your worth is not measured by your productivity.
Giving yourself permission to rest is a radical, loving act. For your mind. Your body. Your spirit.

🎵 “Don’t feel guilty for doing what’s best for you.”
