** Music and Medicine: a single spell **

At the beginning of the civilization music and medicine they were united in a single magic spell. The association between music and health was very close and the art of healing consisted essentially in an act of magic aimed at restoring strength and splendor to the body. The music, identified with the luminous energy of the universe, represented a vital force.

A Japanese legend tells of music as a means of evoking light.

It is said that one day , goddess of the sun (goddess Japanese mother), on a whim went to hide in a cave. The world fell into the dark, in sadness, in anguish. The gods that made up the Japanese Olympus went to beg for Amaterasu to return to his kingdom, but the goddess refused with obstinacy.

Then a God devised a stratagem: he took six big arches, united them, stared at them on the ground and began to play the strings of this improvised harp ... attracted and enchanted by the powerful and sweet charm of music, the goddess of the sun came out of the cave and immediately, with light and energy, the joy and vigor returned to the world. '

**Musica e medicina: un unico incantesimo**

Agli inizi della civiltà musica e medicina erano accomunate in un unico incantesimo magico. L'associazione fra musica e salute era molto stretta e l'arte di guarire consisteva essenzialmente in un atto di magia finalizzato a ridare forza e splendore all'organismo. La musica, identificata con l'energia luminosa dell'universo, rappresentava una forza vitale.

Una leggenda nipponica racconta della musica come mezzo per evocare la luce.

Si narra che un giorno , dea del sole (Dea Madre giapponese), per un capriccio andò a nascondersi in una caverna. Il mondo piombò nel buio, nella tristezza, nell'angoscia. Gli dèi che componevano l'Olimpo giapponese andarono a supplicare Amaterasu di ritornare nel suo regno, ma la dea si rifiutò con ostinazione.

Allora un dio escogitò uno stratagemma: prese sei grandi archi, li uni insieme, li fissò al suolo e cominciò a suonare le corde di quest'arpa improvvisata... Attratta e incantata dal fascino potente e dolcissimo della musica, la dea del sole uscì dalla caverna e subito, con la luce e l'energia, tornarono nel mondo la gioia ed il vigore.'
