Keep it simple and delicious - nutritious dishes do not have to be complicated
2. Follow the 80/20 rule - Eat 80% healthy and 20% to your heart's content
3. Crowd out rather than restrict - using more healthy foods naturally crowds out less healthy choices
4. Eat a rainbow every day - Aim to include a wide variety of seasonal, fresh, and colorful fruits and vegetables
5. Be wild at heart and in the kitchen - Trust your intuition, embrace curiosity, and experiment
6. Live in line with nature - live sustainably

I have had a few busy weeks and it looks like lll continue the ride for a while longer, which makes me really happy. This also means less time for my love and passion - cooking and baking, well and sharing the results here with you 😊
Today, l took the time for an early morning bake though and it turned out lovely. The cake is inspired by the pear, ginger and olive oil cake, featured in Honey & Co’s The Bake Book. I can only highly recommend it, the book is full of baking magic!!
ln fact, l love all their other cook books and l am so happy to have them, as they are the only way to experience their delicious dishes, now that l don’ t live in London anymore. how about opening a restaurant in Berlin? I‘d be the first in line to get a table 😊
Enjoy this beautiful September day today. 🥮🍐🍋🫚🍁

Sending Happy Friday fried egg tortilla breakfast vibes to you all! It’s been a busy week, so l am a bit behind with Social Media. Not a bad thing - it’s good to have time away from the social media wheel. At least l believe it is.
I just caught up with the last week though and l saw so many lovely and fun holiday pics and reels - really makes me want to leave the city and escape the rain. 😅
Anyway, a quick word on the fried egg breakfast: as always l try to have a variety of veggies to keep my microbes happy 🥗. The egg, which l fried out of time poverty sits on a tortilla and a bed of red Sauerkraut , all topped with a drizzle of hot pepper sauce. Very quick and delicious.
Wishing you all a fabulous weekend , despeite the rain, nothing a brolli and wellies can’t fix 😊☔️👢🙋♀️

I went on a little bike tour with a dear friend last week. The trip ended with an unintentional digital detox because l left my phone in one of the bike & bett hostels. What an experience! 😅
It took a while to get it back, so l’m posting this a little delayed. We went on part of the Oder/Neisse Radweg. So beautiful, l d definitely do more of that route! 🚴
Now that l have my phone back, l have a bit of catching up to do, but l have to say that l liked being offline for a few days. I will definitely repeat this with intention soon again. 🧘

I woke up super early today and decided it was time for that morning run, l wish l managed to get in more often.
I was rewarded with more than just endorphins and the feeling of having accomplished something before the day had even started: blue skies, birds singing, pink roses and the scents of summer mornings. I can only highly recommend trying it out, the feeling afterwards is just the best.
Looking at the pictures l took, l thought today must be a “the sky is the limit” and “the world is full of roses” kind of Monday. A bit cheesy, l know, but l think Monday mornings sometimes need a sort of over the top positive approach 😅
Wishing you all a good start into the week. 🚀

I had some real street food at the Fete de la musique last night - l mean in the literal way 😅.
When it comes to pizza l am a bit picky, but l have to say this was the best l have had in a long time- thin crust- amazing sauce and veggies. l can highly recommend you try it out next time you are in the neighbourhood of Il Casolare at Maybach Ufer. Order the pizza for take away, get a cold beer from a Späti and sit down by the Ufer or on Admiralsbrücke and watch the world go buy, whilst enjoying a delicious and freshly baked classic of Italian cuisine. 😊🇮🇹🍕

Quick update from my visit to Hamburg last week - been meaning to share this but time got the better of me.
I went to see friends and family, which is always food for the soul.
Despite the brief visit, l managed to cramp in quite a bit: New hair by my friend Alan, walks on the Alster, morning run by the Elbe, and well, you saw the culinary delights l got to sample in my post about sushi , not to mention my mum’s home cooking😊.

Today l realised that the rhubarb season is coming to an end soon. It goes so fast every year and l haven’t used it enough in my cooking yet.
I want to make the most of the time that is left and want to try out some new recipes. So far l found inspiration to pickle it and to make a chutney. l will test them this week and share the results.
As always, l am looking for more ideas, please let me know if you have any fab recipes or tips for preserving rhubarb and l will try them out! 👩🍳
Thanking you in advance and have a sunny weekend 🙏🙋♀️

I went on a flying visit to Hamburg to see my aunt in hospital and have lunch with my mum. We usually go for sushi - it never disappoints. Especially on a sunny day like today - it was lovely to sit on the terrace and watch the world go by whilst enjoying good food and a cheeky glass of wine. 😊

Cream tea anyone? With strawberries in season, l couldn’t help but make scones today - another homage to the time when l was living in England. The best scones are of course to be had in Devon, but since l won’t be going there any time soon the homemade version has to do.
I went for a healthy ish version, using fresh strawberries instead of jam, with a touch of maple syrup, a really delicious alternative. I replaced the clotted cream with mascarpone and lemon zest, because that was easier to get hold of. For garnish, I added some chopped pistachios and mint because l love it in combination with strawberries.
Oh and tea, l nearly forgot to mention the tea - Earl Grey preferably 😊 For full recipe, hope on the blog: www.irmagreen.com
As little side note: I used another of my new plates for this shot - new props make such a difference, don’t you agree? I can’t wait to get more and shoot more soon 😊

I finally bought some new plates for shooting and tried them out with my afternoon treat. I think they are a winner, right? At least in combination with blueberries, natural yoghurt and leftover crumble! Delicious too!
Nutritionist hack: add a drizzle of omega rich linseed oil, and a sprinkle of cinnamon to help with blood sugar balance. 😉

Look what l discovered on my walk to La Maison this morning : elderflowers have started to bloom - time for some urban foraging fun soon. 🥳 Just a few more days to go. … This is very exciting news, because l love all things elderflower - it is just the most delicious and delicate flavour. Expect some fun recipes in the coming weeks. 👩🍳

I am a qualified nutritional therapist (DipION), coach and well-being chef. After working in London for many years, I now live in Berlin where I am working as a nutrition consultant, coach, health writer and recipe developer to international private clients and corporate businesses. I started Irma Green in 2014 and have been blogging monthly ever since. I really love sharing my recipes and ideas around healthy food and cooking.
Apart from blogging I feel honored to be able to work as a nutrition consultant and coach. I see private international clients via Zoom and clients based in Berlin I see at The Lovers Space, by appointment only. I also give health talks, run nutrition workshops and write nutrition and well-being content for companies in the food & health sector. As a dedicated and passionate healthy food blogger I develop recipes, do food styling and photography, run cooking workshops and contribute to magazines & nutrition newsletters. On request I also sometimes work as a private chef and cook on retreats.
As much as I am passionate about health and well-being, I am passionate about the environment too. I believe one cannot work without the other, they are directly interconnected, that's why sustainable living always forms part of my coachings, talks, workshops, and teachings.
My expertise: In addition to having been awarded a diploma in nutritional therapy from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London, l completed further training in food preparation, including artisan baking, fermentation, cooking for food allergies & intolerances, juice & smoothie making, raw & vegan food preparation.
I like to stay up to date with the latest research, as well as deepening my knowledge in the field of nutrition, and therefore regularly attend CPD events and seminars as well as cooking courses.
