In 1996 Guy’s & St Thomas’ Trust (GSTT) was contracted by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to ensure that the people across the British Forces Germany (BFG) and European Support Group (ESG) communities have access to high quality hospital services, that are similar to the care available in the NHS. Contracts are in p
lace with specific Host Nation Provider hospitals to provide and manage Hospital Care in each region across Germany. Military personnel, their families, and those contracted by the MOD to work in Germany, are eligible to access services and care at these hospitals. In addition to directly arranging hospital and outpatient care in regional settings, GSTT works closely with all the Medical Services across British Forces (Germany), to offer you a seamless service. The SSAFA GSTT Care LLP is responsible for the delivery of Primary and Community Care services on behalf of BFGHS. Primary and Community Care refer to health services that play a central role in the local community such as GPs, Primary Care Nurses, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Remedial Instructors, Midwives and Health Visitors, Speech & Language Therapists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Child Adolescent Mental Health Nurses and Community Children’s Nurses.
