Yes, you let yourself sweat this morning in your workout
But when was the last time you let yourself cry before your day began?
We make space for the “socially acceptable” release of sweat and the endorphins that follow
🗝️But our tears, our wails, our groans are left locked in our hearts, carried with us through the day
Weighing us down
Making us irritable
And brittle
❌Tight and closed and “everything is fine” all the fu***ng time
🌊Until that moment where the ones closest to us ask a certain type of question and a tsunami of emotion unfolds
We dump, we blame, we make it everyone else’s fault
💦When in fact, those sweet little tears were all you needed, just a few, maybe every day, or a few times a week
To take off the pressure, to unburden your heart just a little
Before your day begins, before the feeling “passes”,
⏰A moment of stillness in the morning
No “practice”, just sitting in the nothingness,
👁️In the silence, with your eyes and heart opened up to God
Perhaps some prayers whispered, gentle touches placed upon your skin, organic sounds on the wings of your breath
And allowing tears to well up, cleansing your eyes and your spirit
💧Tears of joy, tears of release, tears of freedom, tears of grief, tears of love, tears of despair
