Bei Kipp-Tester geht´s um die Standfestigkeit von Grabmalen, also um die Sicherheit, der Menschen, die sich auf dem Friedhof aufhalten. Damit die bei der Arbeit oder bei der Grabpflege nicht von einem umstürzenden Grabstein verletzt oder gar erschlagen werden.
Das passiert leider auch heute noch, wenn jemand z. B. gegen ein Grabmal stürzt, sich an einem Grabstein abstützen will oder rücklings gegen eine Stele stößt.
Da Grabsteine oftmals mehrere Hundert Kilogramm schwer sind, haben solche Unfälle oft schlimme Folgen bis hin zu Verrentung oder sogar Todesfall.
Bei der Prüfung mit dem Kipp-Tester wird gegen die Oberkante der Grabsteine eine genormte Kraft ausgeübt, welcher der Grabstein standhalten muss – tut er dies nicht, gilt er als nicht standsicher und muss neu befestigt werden.
