🦷 DESS® C-Base and Cerec® Sirona® system: Seamless digital workflow

In this clinical case, Dr. Konstantinos Tokmakidis presents the rehabilitation of tooth 36 using a zirconia crown on a DESS® C-Base®, fully integrated within a digital workflow powered by the CEREC® system.

Following the extraction of a non-restorable tooth, an implant was placed using an early placement protocol. Due to low primary stability (10 Ncm), a submerged healing approach was selected. After successful osseointegration, re-entry confirmed sufficient stability to proceed with the restorative phase.

Digital planning was performed using a Primescan intraoral scanner and DS Connect software, capturing the peri-implant tissues with a 3 mm C-Base® in place. Despite the software not recognizing this specific height—resulting in a discrepancy between the calculated and actual implant position—the workflow ensured accurate prosthetic positioning without compromising the final outcome.

🦷 Full-upper arch rehabilitation with predictable functional and esthetic outcomes.

In this clinical case, Prof. Fawaz Al-Qahtani presents a complete maxillary restoration using DESS® Conical BLT implants, highlighting a structured digital and surgical workflow for full-arch rehabilitation.

Following the extraction of all maxillary teeth and bone augmentation with a cortico-cancellous allograft, six DESS® Conical BLT implants were placed to support a fixed full-arch prosthesis. After a three-month healing period, impressions were captured using DESS® digital scanbodies and transfers, enabling precise planning and fabrication of a screw-retained restoration.
