The shifting rain
Spring avant-premiere
The pain, the time that passed,
The dance you didn't have.
The endless impossible,
of only imagined laughter.
The inspiration was tenuous.
The word insufficient
The insurmountable obstacle
The winning exhaustion.
Today a window opens
To draw fantasy
An uncertain future
Of an insistent youth
Who visits me with the anguished question
Where did the glow hide?
Returning to poetry is a rough way
On the edge of a cliff:
You need to find the direction of the steps,
Yesterday's strength,
The dawn that cures useless sadness
The intense bitterness
From the unfinished sentence.

DIE WELT AM SONNTAG für Lothar K.
Augusta Niederauer
The world was us
In a drawn heart
In my admired look at so many new scenes.
Of the saints trying to ward off demons,
From the ecstasy of the beginning, from the threat of the end.
The world was our fantasy
From an eternal summer after a long gray or opaque journey
Wanting to dream.
The world was us at the travel party,
in the best flavors,
in the dignity of a pardon.
The world was us unaware of the miracle
Of the places visited,
of the first flowers printed on the calendar.
The world was us.
Seeking corner and enchantment
Me, without understanding the signs.
You, in the networks of the past.
The world was us,
walking in the attic,
on the strange roads of life,
in moments of doubt
of sudden freedom
from a window in the mansard.
The world was us
Ready to be built or destroyed.
With strange words
for the foreigner,
with prophecies that would not be fulfilled
flooding hours of tears,
temples of disillusionment.
The world was us and the memories weighed,
than it was light before, absent of conflict,
than it seemed to make more sense.
The world was us,
adrift like two boats,
seeking the north.
One without noticing the restart.
The other looking on watching the lights go out.

“It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over." -Paulo Coelho
"Despair is a much more dangerous feeling than fear, because fear is an intense feeling and, even if it can be momentarily paralyzing, in the end it calls for action, and, surprisingly, it can also create solutions. But despair is a feeling that calls for passivity and acceptance of reality even if it is unbearable, and it sees every spark of hope, every desire for change as a cunning enemy."
Etgar Keret
"To catch a husband is an art; to hold him is a job."
Simone de Beauvoir
"Youth is not entirely a time of life; it is a state of mind. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old by deserting their ideals. You are as young as your faith as old as your doubts; as young as your self-confidence as old as your fear; as young as your hope as old as your despair."

"We have had our last chance. The problem now is basically theological and involves spirituality and improvement of human character. It must be of the spirit if we are to save the flesh."

— Dr. Dennis O'Grady
in Bottom Line - Personal
"Everybody has accepted by now that change is unavoidable. But that still implies that change is like death and taxes — it should be postponed as long as possible and no change would be vastly preferable. But in a period of upheaval, such as the one we are living in, change is the norm."

“In our culture we tend to equate thinking and intellectual powers with success and achievement. In many ways, however, it is an emotional quality that separates those who master a field from the many who simply work at a job. Our levels of desire, patience, persistence, and confidence end up playing a much larger role in success than sheer reasoning powers. Feeling motivated and energized, we can overcome almost anything. Feeling bored and restless, our minds shut off and we become increasingly passive.”

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. “Compassion is a chameleon: it can wear the face of fear, anger, sadness, joy or even dispassion, depending on what's needed at the time. The compassionate Buddha has a smile in one eye and a tear in the other, and our Buddha mission is to lead people to true freedom, not to hold their hand and tell them that everything is going to be all right. In teaching, compassion means doing whatever needs to be done to get to the next phase.”
