The patient began medical therapy in 2010, focusing on hair retention through medication.
As hair loss continued to progress, the first transplant followed in 2015.

For our next promised repair case, we are addressing a patient with a very thick and wide scar on the back of his head, which has significantly reduced the available donor hair quantity. The previous transplantation, performed by another clinic, exhibited incorrect growth directions and inappropriate hair placements at the hairline and temples, creating an unnatural, doll-like effect that necessitated rectification. Instead of removing the misplaced grafts, we reduced the hairline and camouflaged this area. Over several years, this patient underwent four treatment sessions, receiving a total of 8000 grafts, with some beard hairs being harvested during the fourth session. Beard hairs were primarily used for the tonsure at the crown. In cases like this, it is crucial for the patient to possess a resilient psyche to endure the multiple treatments, as each step must be precisely executed, and the treatment plan must be steadfastly adhered to, despite potential ups and downs. We also assess on-site whether a patient is a suitable candidate for such extensive repair work. Although we strive to deliver the best possible results, the patient must also contribute to the success of the treatment. This patient was exceptionally brave, cooperated well throughout the process, and might soon return for further hair density enhancement. The donor area remains intact, allowing for potential future hair transplant procedures.

Join us on a journey through the art of hair transplantation. In this image, you can see how beard hairs are extracted from the chin area using a specialized rehaar® plucking method. This technique allows for the careful removal of hairs, minimizing tissue impact while preserving the hair stem cells. The image documents the fourth hair transplant procedure for a patient who naturally has very fine hair – a challenge when aiming to achieve optimal density. To overcome this, over 8000 grafts were implanted in four surgeries, including a special blend of these thicker beard hairs and the finer hairs from the hair wreath, specifically in the crown area during the fourth operation.
This combination enhances texture and achieves the desired density by strategically distributing different types of hair, avoiding a concentration of beard hairs. Transplanting only beard or body hair in concentrated areas does not yield natural results. Only through this strategic mix is a natural and dense hair appearance achieved, meeting the patient’s aesthetic expectations.

Over the course of several years, we have guided a patient with diffuse NW6 alopecia through three meticulously planned hair transplants, involving a total of 7960 grafts. This long-term medical journey is not only a physical endeavor but also a psychological one. Patients often need to plan for years and demonstrate considerable psychological resilience, as the treatment process can span three to four years and is fraught with emotional ups and downs. Patience and perseverance are required as the transplanted hairs gradually increase in thickness, contributing over time to the desired increase in volume and the illusion of density. In particular, our patient with blonde hair benefited from the low skin-hair contrast, which helped to effectively maximize the optical density. This challenging journey ultimately leads to an outcome that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also significantly boosts the patient’s self-confidence and profoundly transforms their quality of life.
