Different people have different symptoms of breast cancer. Some people do not have any symptoms at all (1). Some warning signs you should pay attention to are (1, 2):
• Ni**le discharge other than breast milk, including blood.
• Thickening or swelling of part of the breast.
• A new lump in the breast or underarm (armpit).
• Irritation or dimpling of breast skin.
• Redness or flaky skin in the ni**le area or the breast.
• Retraction (pulling in) of the ni**le or pain in the ni**le area.
• Any change in the size or the shape of the breast.
• Pain in any area of the breast that does not go away.
Having one or more of those symptoms does not necessarily mean you have breast cancer, but early detection of breast cancer is key. For peace of mind, make sure to see your doctor right away.
