We are excited to give you some insights into our new Experience Center Europe in Dortmund. Take a look at the newly opened center and see for yourself how this is not a traditional showroom but a place designed for hands-on exchange around advanced nanofabrication. It is a working environment where researchers, engineers, and industry partners can engage directly with RAITH technologies, discuss application-specific challenges, and jointly develop solutions.

The center brings together a broad range of RAITH systems for live demonstrations and application-focused workshops. It also serves as a hub for collaboration across nanotechnology, semiconductor development, and materials research, enabling close interaction between users and our application experts.
With the Experience Center Europe, we have created a space that connects people, technology, and applications — and makes complex nanofabrication processes tangible in practice.

On Wednesday, May 6, we celebrated the opening of the RAITH Experience Center Europe in Dortmund together with distinguished guests from industry, academia, and politics.
The newly opened Experience Center provides a unique platform where state‑of‑the‑art nanofabrication technologies can be experienced first‑hand and serves as a venue for exchange and collaboration with partners from industry and academia.

Following the welcome address by Michael Steigerwald, CEO of RAITH, the opening ceremony featured inspiring contributions from Dortmund’s Lord Mayor Alexander Kalouti, Michael Heuken (AIXTRON and Professor at RWTH Aachen University), as well as architect Elmar Gauggel from Labor Weltenbau. Their perspectives highlighted the importance of technological innovation, collaboration, and modern environments for research and high‑tech development as well as Dortmund’s ongoing, successful structural transformation.

A guided tour through the newly opened Experience Center concluded the event, offering guests first‑hand insights into RAITH’s technologies and application capabilities in nanofabrication and semiconductor research.

We would like to thank all speakers and guests for making this opening a memorable milestone and look forward to continuing the dialogue at the RAITH Experience Center Europe.

Metasurfaces continue to push the boundaries of photonics and in a recent webinar we shared how RAITH’s EBL technologies help make these structures possible — even on the large scale.

The webinar "Enabling advanced photonic and optoelectronic devices – About the beauty of metasurfaces and their applications" is now available on demand.

Metasurfaces have become a cornerstone of modern nanophotonics and optical engineering, enabling unprecedented control over amplitude, phase, and polarization of light. Their fabrication, however, becomes increasingly complex when scaling curved, rotated, and non-repetitive elements to large areas—especially using the traditional GDSII workflow.

The webinar covers:
• how RAITH EBPG supports diverse shape primitives beyond standard trapezoids
• more efficient handling of these primitives using Firebird
• algorithmic patterning that generates design data directly in GPF, eliminating time consuming GDSII conversions
