😘😘Why I Don't Always Explain Massage Using Western Anatomy?
Many of you might be wondering why, when I explain client symptoms or massage techniques, I don't always refer to Western anatomical theories – the ones universally accepted and considered the foundation of all knowledge. Don't worry, there's a clear reason!
Because I've always practiced traditional Thai massage, and my studies have primarily focused on it. While I've explored other ancient and modern disciplines, ultimately, my dedication has been to traditional Thai massage.🥰🥰
🥳🥰😇The Wonder of Traditional Thai Massage
Traditional Thai massage is truly amazing! The more I study it and put it into practice, the more its knowledge branches out endlessly. It's like a large tree constantly sprouting new leaves, yet always maintaining its single, strong root.
In contrast, Western anatomy is primarily based on dissection. It sets hypotheses, proves them, and then somewhat obliges others to accept them. Plus, its theories are constantly changing, depending on what new hypotheses emerge.
☝️☝️☝️Clear Evidence
Just look at Faszien (fascia), for instance. Serious studies on it only began less than ten years ago. The same goes for theories concerning the Pelvic (pelvis) and QL (Quadratus Lumborum); serious interest and hypothesis-forming — sometimes accurate, sometimes way off — are relatively new, depending on the knowledge and understanding of the person proposing them.
Some aspects that can be proven lead to numerous supporting theories, while others that remain unproven lead to endless, sometimes unmanageable, hypothetical extensions.
Conversely, traditional Thai massage has principles that have been proven accurate for thousands of years. This allows for continuous development, focusing on the goal of treating various symptoms, leading to numerous healing arts.
These vary based on the objectives of different schools of thought, which form the basis of ancient healing practices.
For example, Ayurveda, deeply intertwined with Brahmanical beliefs, focuses its therapeutic goals on rejuvenation to return to the Atman.
👍👍Integrating Western Anatomy
Personally, when I study Western anatomy, I do so only to understand the basic functions of different organs in the body. Then, I integrate that understanding with the knowledge of traditional Thai massage. That's it!
This is why I'm not strong with Latin anatomical names. Frankly, I don't want to waste brain space memorizing things that aren't directly useful for therapeutic massage.
The more I synthesize this knowledge, the clearer the goals of each discipline become. Traditional Thai massage aims to treat the symptoms of living people.
Therefore, it entirely discards anything useless for treatment and hides concrete knowledge within abstract explanations, such as the Ten Energy Lines (Sen Sib), energy, or the four (+one) elements.
This makes it impossible for later generations, if they don't genuinely intend to treat the sick, to grasp the concrete knowledge hidden within.
Meanwhile, some disciplines, though initially driven by compassion and the desire to heal, have evolved into businesses over time. Consequently, their later knowledge has reached a dead end, precisely because their goals have diverged.
🥰🥰The Heart of Ancient Healing: The Four Divine States of Mind
Therefore, every ancient healing art begins with the Four Divine States of Mind (Brahma Vihara): Metta (loving-kindness), Karuna (compassion), Mudita (sympathetic joy), and Upekkha (equanimity).
A mind rooted in the Brahma Vihara is like a tree deeply rooted in the earth. Working and studying with dedication is like the nutrients the tree receives, leading to an abundance of healing knowledge, like leaves constantly unfurling.
🥳🥳Thaimassage nach TAN
I have personally proven and understood these principles, which allows me to confidently state that Thaimassage nach TAN, whether it's TAN Holistic Massage, TAN Method, or TAN Bird-Dancing Oil Massage, aims to alleviate clients' symptoms as quickly as possible, using the shortest possible time. This also benefits the client's wallet.😁😁
Furthermore, I explain the body's systems through the principles of the "Ten Lines of Life (Sen Sib)" instead of Western anatomical principles. This makes it easier for future practitioners to further their knowledge of traditional Thai massage.
Most importantly, it saves time memorizing for the practice of traditional Thai massage!
I hope this gives you a clearer understanding of my perspective! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!😉😉
