TEDxFS TEDxFS is a local event devoted to celebrating ideas and provoking conversations that matter. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

At TEDxFS 2017, seven live speakers and two pre-recorded TED talks will be presented to the audience in order to spark vivid discussions. TEDxFS, which is exclusively for the Frankfurt School family, is an independently organized TED event and will display talks from various fields including medicine, neuroscience, entrepreneurship and personal development. In TED’s spirit of ideas worth spreading, we hope that the event will inspire you to further improve and to take on leadership within your chosen field. About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman. The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world get help translating their wishes into action; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities. As our event’s attendees’, speakers’ and team’s health is our top priority during these unprecedented times and to abide by the current government and Frankfurt School regulations concerning the pandemic, we have decided to postpone TEDxFS 2020.

The event, which was due to be held on 14th November 2020, will be postponed to 8th May 2021. We will inform you about the specific details of the event in the new year.

Our decision was not taken lightly, but to ensure an enjoyable and successful event we have decided not to host the event digitally, as we believe it does not do justice to our speakers and the purpose of our event.

We look forward to hosting our event in spring 2021! Stay safe everyone!

Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves.
Amy Cuddy is a professor and researcher at Harvard Business School, where she studies how nonverbal behavior and snap judgments affect people from the classroom to the boardroom.
Amy Cuddy’s research on body language reveals that we can change other people’s perceptions — and perhaps even our own body chemistry — simply by changing body positions
In her Ted Talk the social psychologist shows how "power posing" - standing in a posture of confidence, even if we don't feel confident - can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain and might even have an impact on your chances of success. To learn more about this interesting topic, check out the full Ted Talk in the Link below.

For this Sunday’s recommended Ted Talk, we highly suggest this thought provoking talk by unintentional “Dark Futurist”, writer and technologist Stephen Petranek. In his talk he offers the audience an extraordinarily sobering look at eight critical issues that threaten human life on earth and explains the science behind them. On the other hand, Petranek also explores what emerging technologies could potentially save our future lives.

Unintentional "Dark Futurist", Stephen Petranek, re-visits the subject matter of his original eleven year old TED Talk and offers the audience an extraordina...

Do schools kill creativity? Back in 2006, Sir Ken Robinson posed this question to the TED audience and now over a decade later, it is still a relevant matter that is worth discussing.
In his talk, the creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity.
