We are very happy that our article describing the molecular basis for the dual differentiation block in megkaryoblastic leukemia associated with trisomy 21 now appeared in BLOOD. Juliane Grimm and Raj Bhayadia from our team made a big step towards targeted therapies in pediatric myeloid leukemia. Based on our previous work showing the key role of two altered processes in the development of myeloid leukemia in children with Down syndrome, they designed and preclinically tested a strategy to specifically interfere with those alterations in leukemic cells. The strategy can be extended to other malignanicies with similar alterations.
