10 cm taller - and now the blocking screws are being removed! This minor procedure is only required in addition to tibial lengthening. In femoral lengthening, there are no blocking screws.
However, in both segments, once sufficient new bone has formed, the nail and screws are removed. In the end, completely new bone remains.
