No instrument in the world is played more intensively by hand than a percussion instrument. It is this idea that has set the rhythm for our manufacturing. We build cajons, cajintos, yambus, log drums and other percussion instruments for people with passion in their hearts and rhythm in their blood, for professional musicians all over the world and, to a certain extent, for posterity. In other words, Schlagwerk instruments keep the promise of our craft: to provide masterly manufacturing quality and excellent sound that lasts for many, many years. This is what has made us a role model for 30 years now. We are also proud of the number of friendships that we have developed with musicians and music therapists from all over the world. Hand in hand with them, we have created a range of instruments and accessories that is unique in the world of percussion. Just as unique as each one of our instruments.

I have to admit — we were pretty surprised to see how Ryusuke Oishi is using our The Chick TC22. One thing’s for sure: this is definitely not the application we had in mind when developing The Chick.

All the more reason we love seeing how creatively percussionists are putting it to work. 🔥

Florian Bronk — percussionist, handpan player, and singer — who kindly shared this video with us, uses the Frame Drum Black Dot RTS51D as a shamanic drum. ✨🥁

With its deep, focused low end and controlled overtones, the Black Dot opens up a powerful sonic space that works beautifully in meditative and ritual contexts. Played with steady, repetitive rhythms (often around 4–7 beats per second), shamanic drumming can have a calming effect on the nervous system, may help reduce stress, and can support listeners in entering deeply relaxed or trance-like states. Many practitioners also use this style of drumming to encourage inner focus, emotional release, and a sense of body–mind balance.

At the same time, the Frame Drum Black Dot is designed to speak to both traditional frame drum players and modern drummers. Its pronounced low frequencies and carefully damped overtones create a clean, natural tone. Thanks to the wooden holding cross and the optional RTH10 mount, the drum can even be integrated into a drum kit and played with sticks or rods — with the Black Dot protecting the goatskin head.

Like all our frame drums, the Black Dot stands for a pure, organic sound. Available in 50 cm and 60 cm diameters, the hand-selected goatskin heads are fully tunable via integrated tuning screws in the frame, allowing for precise control of tone and volume.

How does this sound resonate with you? Could you imagine using the Black Dot in your own musical or meditative practice? 🖤

Max Gerwien Percussion demonstrates one of the techniques that lets the shaker inside the wooden frame become a natural part of your playing. The result is a fluid mix of groove, pulse, and tone — perfect for musicians looking to expand their rhythmic vocabulary without adding extra gear. ✨
Designed in collaboration with percussionists Tomas Milner and Danilo Raimondo, the Chiadero RTS40SK bridges the worlds of frame drum, pandero, daf, tambourine, and shaker — making it a powerful choice for world music, solo performance, studio recording, and live percussion setups.

Meet the Big Bom.
Or better said — feel the Big Bom. 🥁✨

The Big Bom is the noble giant among log drums, and not just because of its size. Its deep, voluminous sound and exceptional build quality have made it one of our most successful large instruments. With 10 tones tuned in an F-pentatonic scale, it delivers rich harmonic layers ranging from powerful low bass to bright, singing highs.

But the Big Bom is more than an instrument — it’s an experience. Two players can sit on it at the same time and create a musical dialogue together, making it a true communication instrument. Turn it on its side and it transforms into a resonant sound couch, offering intense vibrotactile stimulation throughout the whole body. That’s why it’s highly valued in therapeutic and wellness environments.

Crafted from solid alder with a maple soundboard, the Big Bom produces a warm, earthy tone that feels as good as it sounds. Whether used for music, interaction, or relaxation, this beautifully shaped instrument invites creativity and connection.

Many thanks to the Resonance Room for the wonderful video.

Same cajon — completely different vibes. 🥁✨
Our longtime endorser and percussionist Matthias Philipzen shows how much the sound of a cajon can change just by switching brushes. In this video he plays with the Cajon Brush #1 (BRC01), Cajon Brush #3 (BRC03), and Cajon Brush #5 (BRC05).

From soft and subtle textures to crisp, defined accents, each brush setting brings its own character and feel to the groove. A small adjustment, a whole new sound.

Which brush is your favorite? Let us know in the comments! 👇

First touch, fresh sounds. ✨
Our wonderful endorser Murat Coskun is trying out the brand-new Chiadero RTS40SK for the very first time — a completely new kind of frame drum with a shaker built right into the wooden frame.

No extra accessories, just pure creativity and new rhythmic textures in one instrument.

How do you like what he’s playing? Could the Chiadero — the Shaker Drum — be an instrument for you? 🥁

Brilliant grooves, hidden sounds. ✨
Our amazing endorser and multi-percussionist Max Gerwien Percussion shows just how beautiful the brand-new Chiadero RTS25SK can sound. But wait… where is that shaker coming from? You don’t even see one!

Here’s the secret: the Chiadero is the world’s first frame drum with a built-in shaker inside the frame itself. This clever design opens up entirely new textures and colors for your frame drum playing—without adding extra gear.

Would the Chiadero be an instrument for your setup? Let us know what you think! 🥁

A fresh take on a familiar effect. ✨
Our longtime Schlagwerk endorser Marco Giovino surprised us with the way he uses the DynaCrasher. It’s originally designed to be mounted on a standard percussion rod — but Marco simply places it right on his snare 😊. Why not? The combination still sounds seriously cool.

Would the DynaCrasher be an effect you’d add to your drum kit? Let us know what you think! 🥁

Creative setup, endless grooves. 🔥
Our endorser Sowa Puchala put together a custom percussion kit featuring a Schlagwerk cajon, the Wooden Bongos WBM100, Pocket Bongos WB14 & WB16, and the Backbeat Station Pro BS350P. A compact combination with a huge range of tones, textures, and rhythmic possibilities.

How do you like the mix of sounds? Could you imagine a setup like this for yourself? Let us know what you think in the comments! 👇

And did you notice that cool add-on on Sowa’s be**er? Such a slick little piece of gear 🥰.
