No instrument in the world is played more intensively by hand than a percussion instrument. It is this idea that has set the rhythm for our manufacturing. We build cajons, cajintos, yambus, log drums and other percussion instruments for people with passion in their hearts and rhythm in their blood, for professional musicians all over the world and, to a certain extent, for posterity. In other words, Schlagwerk instruments keep the promise of our craft: to provide masterly manufacturing quality and excellent sound that lasts for many, many years. This is what has made us a role model for 30 years now. We are also proud of the number of friendships that we have developed with musicians and music therapists from all over the world. Hand in hand with them, we have created a range of instruments and accessories that is unique in the world of percussion. Just as unique as each one of our instruments.

Coast Drum Ø 20 inch tunable - RTS51CD

With our tunable Coast Drum, a regular playable frame drum is available from Schlagwerk. The filling simulates the rolling of waves on the beach or the roaring surf on the coastal cliffs. The drum with a diameter of 50 cm, goatskin and mesh material is perfect for use in the therapeutic field, for sound baths, meditations or in classical frame drum play. The finely tuned mixture of glass and steel balls in between the natural skin and mesh material can also be adjusted in quantity by means of a side screw if necessary.

Artist Monday with Tom Cebulla

Almost four years ago, I turned my passion into a profession and have since been working with great dedication as both drummer and drum teacher. Besides session jobs, I taught weekly at several music schools and privately. Musically, I move mainly in pop, rock, and indie.
In recent years, I played mostly in cover bands, both in my own projects and as a sideman. With my acoustic band Plan B & Friends, the cajon set became essential to our unique stage sound. I also completed a 20-month Professional Program, joined seminars and drum workshops, and in 2023 took part in the Popkurs in Hamburg – my biggest highlight so far. Now I’m starting my “Popular Music – Drums” studies in Hanover, aiming to collaborate more with young pop artists alongside cover work.
My first Schlagwerk cajon was a Christmas gift in 2015 and quickly became the door opener to my professional career through street music and first gigs. Over time, my setup has grown mainly with Schlagwerk instruments. Their variety, creativity, and quality continue to inspire me. My drum-style cajon setup delivers an acoustic, percussive yet realistic sound that fascinates audiences and is always a talking point on stage.
Looking ahead, I want to play more with pop artists, go on tour, perform in exciting venues, and grow my online presence – with the goal of reaching 10,000 Instagram followers.

In this manner, both components of the set can be attached to both sides together or independently of each other, depending on your playing technique.

A metal crasher that cuts through on the drum set but also offers a rich snare / sizzle sound at low volumes? Our AluCrasher can do both! Many metal crashers on the market sound sharp and almost painful to the ears when played loudly, while at low volumes they are barely balanced and often simply tinny. With the AC280M, we use the proven snare technology of the DynaCrasher and, with the combination of an aluminum sheet and carbon steel jingles, produce a finely nuanced sound that sounds metallic but not too sharp. The AluCrasher can be played by hand, sticks, rods or brushes. The percussion bracket allows the Crasher to be perfectly integrated into the drum set.
