Canadian Ex-Truck Driver/Archaeologists Turned Yogi!
Yes, that's me. Hi, and welcome to my website. I am a 200-hour Yoga Alliance registered multi-style yoga teacher, though you probably gathered that from my site. ;) my style is a mix of hatha, vinyasa and power mixed in for good measure. I'm definitely a no Frou Frou kinda yogi.
My journey to yoga began during my time as a truck driver. Initially, I was skeptical, viewing yoga as hocus-pocus and too esoteric to be of any real benefit. So, I continued driving, smoking, eating poorly, and neglecting exercise.
The toll of my lifestyle was severe, affecting both my physical and emotional health. Initially, I was skeptical, viewing yoga as hocus-pocus and too esoteric to be of any real benefit. So, I continued driving, smoking, eating poorly, and neglecting exercise.
The toll of my lifestyle was severe, affecting both my physical and emotional health. Driving can be a lonely profession with immense responsibility. I tried various medications to cope, some worked temporarily, but none provided lasting relief. Finally, I decided to give yoga a try, encouraged by a friend who urged me to commit to it for at least two weeks before passing judgment. That was over 20 years ago!
Two years after starting yoga, I left truck driving and, thanks to the opportunities offered by the Transitional Year Programme at the University of Toronto, I began studying archaeology. I am forever grateful for this chance. I spent many years working in archaeology, and I still love it. You wouldn't want to visit an archaeological site with me—I’m like a kid in a candy store! During my university years, the desire to teach yoga grew stronger, but I lacked the financial means and time to pursue it.
I am inspired every day from yoga and inspired to pass it on and share it with the world.... 🙏
