EuroEyes Annual Ambassadors' Gala Dinner in Shanghai: An evening full of gratitude and joy

Shanghai experienced a special highlight when the prestigious ‘EuroEyes Annual Ambassadors’ Gala Dinner’ took place in the impressive Pudong Art Museum. The event brought together numerous guests who had undergone myopia or presbyopia surgery at EuroEyes many years ago – and are still delighted with their visual results.

The evening’s guests of honour were former patients who had once opted for surgical correction of their defective vision. Many of them took the opportunity to tell their personal stories on stage. With shining eyes, they talked about their operation and the small but important moments when they were able to put their glasses away for good. Their words spoke of pure joy and deep gratitude – a sign of how much the operations have improved their lives. Many of the former patients also brought along their partners and family members, who were keen to find out more about the possibilities of being glasses-free. A large raffle was one of the highlights of the event.

EuroEyes is particularly pleased about the long-term satisfaction of its patients. ‘It is our greatest success when people are still satisfied with their decision after many years,’ said a company spokesperson. The event in Shanghai once again emphasised the high quality of EuroEyes treatments and the deep loyalty of patients to the clinic.

The ‘EuroEyes Annual Ambassadors’ Gala Dinner’ thus remains a tribute to all those who have dared to take the step towards a life without glasses – and have never regretted it.

EuroEyes was awarded in Hong Kong for 58,000 implanted lenses

In 2024, EuroEyes once again implanted the most AT LISA tri intraocular lenses (IOLs) worldwide, further consolidating its leading position in the field of refractive surgery. In the nine consecutive years from 2016 to 2024, EuroEyes has implanted a total of around 58,000 of these high-quality trifocal lenses, making it the only customer with this exclusive status.

The award ceremony took place in Hong Kong, where Dr Jørn S. Jørgensen, Founder, Chairman and CEO of EuroEyes, received the certificate from Magnus Reibenspiess, Head of the Ophthalmology Strategic Business Unit and President of ZEISS Ophthalmology. This honour underlines the many years of successful cooperation between EuroEyes and ZEISS Medical Technology.

Dr Jørgensen expressed his delight at receiving the award again and emphasised the importance it has for the company. He emphasised that the continued recognition reflects not only the trust patients place in EuroEyes, but also the expertise and dedication of the entire team. EuroEyes will continue to strive to offer its patients the most advanced and effective vision correction solutions.

This award, which is considered one of the highest honours in ophthalmology, is awarded for outstanding contributions to refractive surgery and recognises Professor Reinstein's outstanding achievements in the further development of innovative technologies and procedures.

The José Barraquer Award, named after the famous Colombian ophthalmologist Dr José Barraquer, who is also honoured as the ‘father of refractive surgery’, is awarded to ophthalmologists and scientists who have made significant and lasting contributions to refractive surgery.
