We eat when we are hungry, we sleep when we are tired, we rest when we are sick, and if we don’t do what our body needs, we cry, we rebel. As we grow, so many of us are taught to ignore the body, to trust the mind instead because that is what will get us jobs and security (or so we think), and even taught to despise these incredible vessels of spirit in order to fit a certain aesthetic. My journey
of healing is still blooming, but the seeds have been planted over the last couple of years. In that time, I’ve met a small circle of people who have seen the potential in me that for so long I was unable to see or hid under the shadow of inadequacy that permeated so many areas of my life. What I’ve come to realize is that I have extraordinary gifts that not only do I want to share, but I have the impulse from spirit to share on this Earth. I began my work in energy and sound healing way before I even knew I was doing it. I am a classically trained musician with a masters degree in vocal performance who grew up also playing the cello, and I knew I wanted to be a performer because of the way the music moved me and others. It’s beyond description, sometimes beyond comprehension. It can work on the body and emotions in both obvious and subtle ways. In the last few years, my yoga and healing practice combined with my musician’s brain led to me experimenting with different frequencies, known as the solfeggio frequencies. In some traditional practices, the 7 main chakras are also linked to certain frequencies. I have personally found that chords and improvisation with those frequencies as a basis have led to a deeper rest and concentration on those chakras. It was after moving to Hamburg, Germany that I really began experimenting with different healing modalities in an attempt to work with my own shadows and trauma. Sure, part of healing includes the whole idea of love and light, but the plot twist is that we find the light deep in our own darkness and shadows. Reiki, breath work, sound healing, and somatic body work have been incredible tools for me, and I decided to pursue a Usui Reiki master teacher certification with Katherine Bates of Love Warrior Yoga and a sound bowl massage course with Thomas Eberle of Surya Music. What Reiki has done for me is opened the eyes of my spirit to my power. After my first session, I felt like a light had been switched on in the darkest parts of my soul, and each time I receive a healing session, it’s like another part of those soul rooms is illuminated. That doesn’t mean the journey is all love and light. It’s hard work. Often, we are looking for a quick fix, a pill, to cure whatever ails us most. While medication can often be the right course for many people, in conjunction with the energy healing of Reiki, you can learn to heal yourself from the inside out, from the bottom up. Sound healing became the obvious next step for me as a musician. Sound baths and singing bowl massage have led to a combination of deep emotional release and zen states. What I offer is a combination of Reiki, sound bowl massage, holistic voice coaching, and sound baths to assist you on your own healing journey. Why Zenith? The word came to me intuitively upon waking one morning and I got the message that I should name my business Zenith Sound and Energy Healing. Sounds way out there, I know, but I’ve learned to trust my intuition and see where it leads me. Upon researching the meaning of the word, I stumbled upon multiple meanings, all of which had incredible relevance to why I do what I do:
The term zenith sometimes means the highest point, way, or level reached by a celestial body on its daily apparent path around a given point of observation. A Zenith Experience is any positively felt Connection Experience. A zenith experience may range in power from minor nature and peak experiences through to full-blown visionary revelation. The opposite of a zenith experience is a Nadir Experience. Zenith experiences are pleasant moments of unity, oneness, peace, bliss, enlightenment, realization, etc., caused when Consciousness descends into a Physical Unit that is healthy, prepared, and embedded in a supportive milieu. A zenith experience may occur spontaneously as is the case, for example, when somebody is walking through the forest and they suddenly experience feelings of unity or oneness), or it can be induced, as for example when the Bodily Ego is intentionally suppressed through meditational practices (e.g. Transcendental Meditation) or nutritional supplementation (i.e. ingestion of Connection Supplements.)
