Mit großen Dankbarkeit wollen wir euch darüber informieren wie wir die verbleibenden Spendengelder zur Bekämpfung von DIPG einsetzen wollen.
Als erstes wollen wir sicherstellen, dass die Spendengelder exklusiv der Bekämpfung von DIPG eingesetzt werden und dass, die unterstützten Organisationen nachweislich gute Verwendungsmöglichkeiten für die Spenden haben.
Um die Spendengelder möglichst geziehlt und effektive einzusetzen zu können haben wir uns entschlossen Spenden in in mehreren Tranchen an Organisationen zu verteilen
Die erste Tranche von insgesamt 50.000 EUR geht an das “Center for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and other Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG)” und die “Stiftung für Innovative Medizin”.
Wir bedanken uns nochmal von ganzem Herzen für die unglaubliche Anteilnahme die Ihr Austin und uns zukommen habt lassen und glauben fest daran, dass die verbleibenden Spenden und die Organisationen die von den verschieden Tranchen profitieren werden, einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Bekämpfung dieser schrecklichen Krankheit leisten werden.

Weitere Informationen zu den begünstigten Organisationen:
Fr. Prof. Dr. med. Sabine Müller leitet das “Center for DIPG and other DMG” im Kinderspital Zürich und Sie und Ihr Team sind dabei eine revolutionäre Studie speziell für DIPG und DMG Patienten aufzusetzen. Die Studie nennt sich DMG-Adaptive Combinatorial Therapy, und im Gegenteil zu den meisten bestehenden klinischen Studien, welche sehr restriktive Aufnahmekriterien haben, ist die Studie auf eine Weise konzipiert, die möglichst vielen DIPG Patienten Zugang zu der Studie ermöglichen soll. Des weiteren soll die Studie, die Überlebenschancen des individuellen Patienten an erste Stelle setzen, in dem von Anfang an auf eine Kombination von verschiedenen vielversprechenden Medikament gesetzt wird, an Stelle von konventionellen Studien, welche sich lediglich auf die Erforschung eines einzelnen Medikamentes beschränken. Führende Experten glauben, dass eine Kombination von Medikamenten, wie bei der Behandlung von Tuberkulose, Lepra, Malaria und HIV / AIDS, ein Schlüsselfaktor für die Schaffung einer wirksamen Therapie für DIPG ist.

Die “Stiftung für Innovative Medizin” in München hat sich dem Kampf gegen kindliche Hirntumore und insbesondere der Bekämpfung von DIPG verschrieben. Unter der Leitung von Dr. Alexander Beck arbeitet ein mehrköpfiges Team von wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter daran, mit innovativen Verfahren, potenzielle Wirkstoffe gegen DIPG zu identifizieren.

With great gratitude we want to inform you about how we want to use the remaining donations to combat DIPG.
First of all, we want to ensure that the donated money is used exclusively to combat DIPG and that the supported organizations are able to demonstrate that donations have and will be used to create real impact.
In order to be able to use the donations as effectively as possible, we have decided to distribute donations in several tranches to qualified organizations.
The first tranche of EUR 50,000 goes to the “Center for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and other Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG)” and the “Foundation for Innovative Medicine”.

Prof. Dr. med. Sabine Müller heads the “Center for DIPG and other DMG” in the Children's Hospital Zurich and she and her team are setting up a revolutionary clinical study especially for DIPG and DMG patients. The study is called DMG-Adaptive Combinatorial Therapy, and in contrast to most existing clinical studies, which have very restrictive admission criteria, the study is designed in a way that increases the access DIPG patients will have to the study. Furthermore, the study is improving patients’ chances of survival by giving patients access to a combination of various promising drugs, instead of conventional clinical studies, which are primarily focused on exploring the effects of a single drug. Using drugs in combination, as demonstrated in the treatment of tuberculosis, leprosy, malaria, and HIV/AIDS, is believed to be a key factor in creating an effective therapy for DIPG.

The “Foundation for Innovative Medicine” in Munich is committed to the fight against childhood brain tumors and in particular the fight against DIPG. Under the direction of Dr. Alexander Beck, a team of scientists are using innovative models and methods to identify drugs which have the potential to treat DIPG.
