Allow me to re-introduce myself...

My name is Corinna, but basically everyone calls me Coco.

🌆 I've been living in big cities for almost 20 years now and loved it. Still love it, BUT nature calls me more and more. And with the current economic developments I feel like it might just not be worth it anymore?! Figuring out how to have both, actually.

♓️♋️♌️ Yes, astrology is part of my life. I'm coming to the growing awareness that it has been ridiculed through colonialism and it's about time to change that.

🧘🏻‍♀️ I'm teaching yoga for quite a while now and I'm relentlessly broadening my understanding of the human body and mind. Next to modern yoga, I am diving into Somatic Movement & Zenthai Shiatsu atm.

🌊 I love the forest, but I'm really really happiest close to the ocean and in the south. So Greece & Portugal are my go-to-places.

🏄🏽‍♀️ Also, I surf, it makes me feel incredibly happy, embodied, connected & awake. I'm veeeeery slow in progress though.

❤️‍🩹 Talking about connection... can we please give community and a sense of belonging (apart from classical family structures) a way bigger focus in our lives?

🌀 Energetic Washing Machine🌀 aka Training Weekend 3/6 in Berlin and it's been inteeeense, wow!

We started each day with an early 1.5 hours yoga session, then most important break of the day - coffee & some croissant thingy at Albatross bakery (I'm now going cold turkey on croissants), then lots of connecting partner exercises, listening to theory about the 5 elements and most of all: giving and receiving bodywork.

1. Balancing the fire (me & spicy shakshuka) with some wood element (lots of green drinks
2. Zenthai Shiatsu Flows according to the elements
3. Breakfast Break with friends
4. The magic of early mornings in the studio
5. Our lovely teachers in action
6. "Es wurde Sommer und Berlin war der schönste Platz auf Erden" - who knows this line?
7. Some mingeling inbetween sessions
8. Thinking about the power of human touch a lot after this
9. My handsome roomies making sure everything is in order
10. Sharing carrot cake with new friends

NOW: Integration time & practising.

🇬🇷 Ok, June - We have A LOT to unpack. In a very, very, good way.

Started the month in Greece & this place on earth, the people there, nature, the cuisine just touch my heart deeply each time I'm there. Thank you for nourishing me in many ways 🤌🏼

1. The chair
2. Taverna in Athens
3. In my rose era
4. Hike up to the chora in Serifos before dinner with 35 degrees? Great idea, no problemo. Food afterwards was great though!
5. Views
6. This water! 🏖
7. Greek Salat, all home grown ingredients by the sweetest family on the island. Food nourishes differently when it comes from a pure intention.
8. Appollonia has beautiful houses, views & cuisine
9. Coffee, what can I say.
10. The sea is just sooo healing
11. Sunset on the ferry
12. Cats of Athens
13. Hey guys!
14. After my video, the women working in the church tore all the candles down
15. Beach cat. I have sooo many more cat photos, shall I make a separate thread? 😻
16. Colours of Sifnos
17. Downtown Syros
18. Plattforms on the sea, unexpectedly fun! Locals & visitors mingling together, and sometimes a wave comes and everyone has to jump and secure his/her things.
19. Dinner at Aristide Hotel
20. Coco & her marble bathroom

So, what is 🌀 HOME 🌀 to you?

A city, an address, a house, certain people, the family you grew up in or a general feeling of connection?

I have felt home when my mom cooked for me, in the arms of my ex-partners, I felt at home on foreign continents and walking barefoot in nature. And then, I very much did not feel at home doing all of this.

But.

We all have a home and that is our body.

If you are female, not hetero-normative or a person of colour, this home most probably is exposed to a big extent of violence in this society.

Your body carries emotional memory and not only yours, but of those before you. We are all swimming in ancestral waters. This also causes pain, if you believe in it or not.

Me too, I sometimes still fail to acknowledge my body as my home.

Not listening to its whispers.
Feeding it, but not nourishing it.
Not letting my emotions flow.
Judging it for how it looks.

But I’m getting better. More connected, a better listener.

What helps me a lot on this way:
Touch.
Movement.
Awareness for my cycle.
Forgiveness.

And if you made it till here, my question for you is: Exploring the meaning of home, what is it for you?

You can use this 🌑♋️ for finding out exactly that.

Some honest words on this Friday morning that have been in my head & heart for quite a while now. 🧠🫀

There are times that give answers and times that ask questions, right? I'm definitely in the second phase currently.

At yesterdays yoga session, one of my regulars asked me "how are you?" and out of a reflex I answered "gooood, thank you".

And then I had a moment, and it settled in and I realized: this is the default answer, but it's actually not the truthful answer. Because there's a lot on my mind right now.

So with being truthful to the group by saying there's a lot going on, a deeper space opened between us where we all were able to be more open & very authentic with each other.

Let's meet there, people. Always.
Or as often as we can.
In this space where "I'm fine"
is not the answer we are seeking
from each other.

Far, far away from the rest of the world, between forests and rivers... that's where we will gather this upcoming October for my next yoga retreat 🍂🌲🏞🌏🧘🏽‍♀️

You wanna immerse into nature, relax in the sauna and then jump into a natural lake afterwards? Hike through colourful trees and then enjoy a balanced yoga class with a group of open-minded people? Then please, don't miss out on this third edition of my yoga retreat in the Bavarian Forest.

MOVING INTO FLOW will be an active yoga retreat, with plenty of movement in our beautiful earth shala plus movement activities outside. Early autumn is a beautiful season in this secluded area where I actually grew up as a kid.

* Yoga twice a day (Vinyasa, Yin & Somatic Yoga)
* Delicious and mostly local / seasonal food with a three-course-menue every evening
* Wellness & Spa all day long if you like
* hiking and paddling through nature
* a retreat space that's secluded and a little crazy at the same time

Stillness.

One of my ex-partners once told me he’s never met a person to whom the song “enjoy the silence” suited better than me. And it’s true, I do enjoy silence. Stillness even.

After an intense day at work I sometimes close the window blinds of my bedroom and just lay there in darkness. No moving, no going, just being. It’s like I need to de-charge from the world outside, from its noise, but also from its norms, obligations and the unthinkable atrocities that happen every day. Chopping off the foreign energies that draw me away from my own self.

In those moments, stillness brings me enormous relief.

It makes me lighter, re-aligns me, and as I know now: it regulates my nervous system back to an equilibrium.

After living in big cities for almost 20 years now (wtf!) I feel my inner longing for stillness growing constantly. And it’s not necessarily that I long for complete silence - because I can have that at my home - it’s more a longing for places with less dense energy and more space for natural vibration.

And then on the other hand I have met a kind of stillness in my life that can be very hurtful: Growing up in a family that is not very vocal, where “the silent treatment” was a common form of communication and people around me lacked the words to deal with emotions, relations, hardships or with love. I’ve done it myself, many times.

I want to invite you to find the courage to meet yourself & others in stillness with an open heart. Fully aware that the most important things in life have to be felt, not said.

Thanks to my team for gifting me the book ❤️

🚀 New Years Resolutions can be fun - or a pain in the ass 💩

To my experience, the success with those resolutions not only depends which goals you set but also how you set them.

Each resolution has to be measurable. E.g. "I wanna eat healthier" is not very measurable. Better version: "I am eating veggies at least three nights per week."

I find it also important to write my resolutions in present tense (because I am actually doing them) and to check it they are really MY GOALS. Running after something you don't identify with is an absolute waste of time!

Also, if you can read in the main post, I am convinced that you can absoluteley broaden you understanding of valuable goals. They can be emotional, they can be fun, they can be very small to others.

Click through the pictures for some more tips on how to work an your vision and stick to it.

And with that: 🤌🏻 HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024 ✨️

❤️‍🔥 RETREAT RECAP ❤️‍🔥

During the days before my winter retreat started I had severe doubts if I was well enough prepared to host my next yoga retreat. Times has been stressful, two bookings habe been cancelled... but you know. When you do what lights your inner fire up, you are always prepared!

It was an absolute pleasure to lead yet another group through several days of intense practice, share time with them, and enjoy food, sauna and ice baths together.

1. Room is ready.
2. Yoga Shala including some tarot cards for everyone to pull.
3. Dinner space with a fire place, so cozy.
4. Spot check (not the usual one). Pool will follow!
5. Bringing sounds into our shala.
