The 40th Board of Directors Meeting of the International Bone Research Association (IBRA) took place today in Basel, uniting key leaders to shape the future of bone research and medical education.

It was a great pleasure to have the Greek D.A.F. travelling fellows as guest at the Diakovere Annastift. We operated several cases and had a great discussion. Looking forward to meet you in Munich at the D. A.F. Congress

Wir trauern um Frau Prof. Dr. med. Christina Stukenborg-Colsman

Ich verliere mit ihr meine Mentorin, Kollegin und langjährige Wegbegleiterin. Was als vierjährige Zusammenarbeit begann, wurde zu 15 prägenden Jahren.
Christina hat in Hannover eine starke Fuß-Community aufgebaut, die heute bundesweit vernetzt ist.
Als Chefärztin der gründete sie ein international anerkanntes Fußzentrum, engagierte sich in Forschung, Lehre und als Stimme in nationalen und internationalen Fachgesellschaften (, , IFFAS, BVOU, DGOOC).
Ihr plötzlicher Tod hinterlässt eine große Lücke – menschlich wie fachlich.
Mein tiefes Mitgefühl gilt ihrer Familie und besonders ihren beiden Töchtern.

In Gedenken an Christina und ihren Wunsch, junge Wissenschaftler:innen zu fördern, wurde die Stiftung
„Förderung Junge Wissenschaft“ Annastift e.V. gegründet.

We mourn the loss of Prof. Dr. med. Christina Stukenborg-Colsman

Christina passed away suddenly and without warning .
With her, I’ve lost a mentor, colleague, and trusted companion. Sharp, inspiring, open-minded, and always supportive. What started as a four-year collaboration turned into fifteen meaningful years.
She built a strong foot & ankle community in Hanover – now connected across Germany. As Chief Physician at DIAKOVERE, she founded a globally respected foot department and was a highly regarded researcher and speaker in national and international societies (D.A.F., EFAS, IFFAS, BVOU, DGOOC).
Her unexpected passing leaves a deep void – both professionally and personally. My thoughts are with her family, especially her two daughters.
In memory of Christina and in honor of her commitment to young researchers, the
“Förderung Junge Wissenschaft” Annastift e.V. foundation has been established.

I am honored to be announced as an APL Professor of the Hannover Medical School. Today the president of the MHH Prof. Denise Hilfiker-Kleiner, PhD presented me the certificate.

Hannover Medical School has a long-standing reputation for excellence in medical science and patient care, and I look forward to go on with my research, forstering the next generation of medical professionals and improve healthcare.

This milestone would not have been possible without the guidance, support, and inspiration of many mentors, colleagues, friends and family who have shaped my journey. Their wisdom and encouragement have been invaluable in helping me grow as a researcher, educator, and professional.

I thank especially Prof. Dr. Henning Windhagen and Prof. Dr. med. Christina Stukenborg-Colsman for their continuous support and advices. Further on I would like to thank all past and present members of the Foot and Ankle department of the DIAKOVERE gGmbH Annastift, especially PD Dr. med. Sarah Ettinger, Prof. Dr. Kiriakos Daniilidis, Prof. Dr. Matthias Lerch and Prof. Dr. med. Leif Claassen. A special thank goes also to Prof. Dr. Hintermann Beat, Victor Valderrabano, Prof. Dr. Markus Knupp and Lukas Weisskopf, who introduced me to the field of foot and ankle and sports medicine and ignited the fire for these topics in me.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch den knapp 100 neuen zertifizierten Fusschirurgen der DAF zum Erhalt des Zertifikats. Es war ein toller Kurs und hat Spass gemacht die Sehnenerkrankungen an Fuß und Sprunggelenk zu diskutieren.
