What inspiring days at SBNS Bristol 2025!
A big thank you to everyone who visited us— we truly enjoyed the insightful conversations, the exchange of ideas, and the chance to showcase joimax®’s innovations in minimally invasive spine surgery.
Events like these remind us how valuable it is to connect with the neurosurgical community, learn from one another, and work together to advance patient care.

Kudos to the organizers for hosting such a well-run and engaging congress in Bristol.

In Memoriam – Dr. Ralf Wagner

With deep sadness, we mourn the passing of our dear friend, colleague, and partner, Ralf Wagner.

For almost 20 years, Ralf was not only a pioneering spine surgeon but also a loyal and steadfast companion on our shared journey at joimax®- ESPINEA®. Against all odds, he was always at the forefront – courageous, determined, and tireless in his mission to advance endoscopic spine surgery.

His work and spirit became an inspiration and role model for many surgeons around the world. Ralf was more than a brilliant surgeon – he was a mentor, a partner, and above all, a friend.

Our long journey together was filled with groundbreaking achievements, spirited discussions, and many moments of laughter.

He was always dynamic, never simple, sometimes restless – but exactly this energy drove progress and made him truly unique.

His name and impact will remain forever linked to the field he loved, with the “Wagner’s Arch” standing as a lasting tribute to his contributions. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched, the innovations he championed, and the humanity he brought to every patient.

We will honor his memory by carrying forward his vision, his passion, and his uncompromising commitment to excellence – beyond endoscopy.

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Practical. Peer-led. Purposeful.
That’s how surgeons described the 2nd Taiwan Spine Week – Cadaveric Lab: PSLD Base Camp, held at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital’s Surgical Training and Academy and Research Center on September 20th.

Across eight cadaveric lab tables and a room filled with around 40 passionate surgeons, the focus was clear: mastering real-world techniques that make a meaningful impact. Meeting convener Dr. Yu-Jen Lu invited Dr. Kang-Taek Lim from Korea as the lead faculty to share his expertise on anterior endoscopic cervical discectomy (AECD). The workshop provided deep dives into procedures that surgeons are increasingly turning to, such as:
- Posterior Cervical Foraminotomy

- Cervical ULBD
- Uniportal Interlaminar and Paraspinal Approaches
- Biportal Interlaminar and Far Lateral Approach

As a proud sponsor, joimax® supported four cadaveric tables. We thank our faculties—Dr. Elmer Jose A Meceda, Dr. Sai Dileep Viswanadha, Dr. Akhor Yakubov, Dr. Nurbyek Baban, Dr. Wen-Chien Chen, Dr. Chien-Yin Lee, Dr. Che-Chia Hsu, and Dr. Yung-Hsueh Hu—who shared their expertise with 15 participants engaged in hands-on applications using the iLESSYS® Pro and Delta systems. These tools are designed to simplify uniportal endoscopic access and support both cervical and lumbar interlaminar procedures.

At our booth, new technologies such as the iLESSYS® Biportal and TESSYS® TransSAP systems, along with EndoLIF® fusion, were also introduced—sparking conversations about how endoscopic techniques are evolving in Taiwan and beyond.

Milestone for ESPINEA® in India

We are proud to share that the first ESPINEA® program in India took place on September 13–14, under the leadership of Dr. Faizal M. Ikbal, who has now been officially awarded the title of ESPINEA® Faculty.

The program combined:
- A full day of CME sessions featuring renowned experts, including Dr. Satish Chandra Gore and Dr. Girish Datar, with international participation from Sri Lanka and the Middle East.
- Insightful online lectures by Dr. Junseok Bae on cervical spine endoscopy and Dr. Frank Hassel on lateral positioning in endoscopy.
- An august inauguration ceremony, attended by distinguished faculty, political dignitaries, and rounded off with online felicitation by Mr. Wolfgang Ries.
- A hands-on live surgery visitation, where selected candidates scrubbed in on four cases, covering transforaminal, interlaminar, and cervical approaches.

This successful event marks an important step in expanding ESPINEA®’s global reach and fostering excellence in spine endoscopy education.

Innovation in Action – joimax® Technologies in the OR

Last week, we had the pleasure of accompanying Dr. Yama Kamawal in Werneck during a MultiZYTE® procedure.
A special highlight: the new bipolar Vaporace® probe was used for treatment of the facet joints enabling a quick and effective denervation procedure. This is another strong example of how our high-tech solutions are helping to reshape pain therapy.

Fostering Surgical Excellence Through Collaboration

Another successful visitation took place yesterday at Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester, where our esteemed faculty Mr. Ankur Saxena hosted Mr. Nektarios Mazarakis from Brighton.

Two successful TESSYS® cases were performed—exemplifying not only the power of advanced endoscopic techniques, but also the importance of knowledge sharing among dedicated spine surgeons.

High-Impact Education Meets Innovation in Endoscopic Spine Surgery!

joimax® was proud to support the 3rd Annual Endoscopic Spine Surgery Symposium at the Seattle Science Foundation last weekend as main sponsor — a truly excellent event dedicated to advancing minimally invasive spine care.

• Worldwide online access to the sessions via SSF’s YouTube channel

This year’s symposium set a new benchmark in quality and reach. Thanks to the excellent work of the Endoscopic Spine Research group. 10 of the 15 Faculty presented real patient surgical cases using joimax® technologies — sharing detailed study data, surgical videos, and compelling clinical outcomes.

All live surgeries and lectures were professionally recorded and will be broadcast globally over the coming months. Last year’s sessions drew thousands of viewers, and we expect this year’s world-class content to reach even more!
