I would like all of my clients to know that I am fully aware of the changing L&D policies and I understand that this creates serious anxiety when it comes to preparing for your labor. Please be assured that I am working hard to come up with solutions to prepare you and your partner for this. I, of course, hope that by the time we get to your labor that things will be better controlled and less restricted, but I also want to be prepared in case they are not. I am developing a virtual doula support program which will include videos, trainings for your partner and having me still present, virtually, during your labor. This helps me to ensure I can still support both you and your partner emotionally. I understand that this is not the most ideal situation but I want you all to know I am still here and am fully focused on continuing to support you. There will be kinks as I work this out, so I do ask for patience but please know that I am always open to feedback and suggestions. I am excited to work with each of you to continue having a positive birth experience, despite the changes and unknowns! As always with birth, plans change! If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out. ❤
Hands. You hold your spouse's hand while you labor, you squeeze your doula's hand while you are pushing, you hold your baby's tiny hand while they stare up at you, your partner strokes your cheek with his hand in awe of the amazing thing you have just done... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The OB's skilled hands work quickly and efficiently to repair, the nurse's hands administer medicine to assist in numbing your pain, the med tech's hands warm and stimulate your brand new baby... so many hands play a role in your birth, today I am thankful to have been an outstretched hand for my client in this moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
