Due to a cancelled blood drive, Donors and Volunteers are needed to help save US & other NATO military lives on and off the battlefield! SIGN UP now to give blood with the DoD's Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP). If you donated MAR 10-11 in the Heaton, you are NOT eligible to give Whole Blood this time…but you CAN sign up at the same QR to give Platelets/Plasma at our Landstuhl Donor Center! Open to nearly everyone else over 18 with base access (including EU/UK), thanks to relaxed eligibility rules.

We have a position open for our Non-Mobile SAF-IS Regional Program Specialist position which will help support our Service to Armed Forces and International Services Division mission. This position is a full-time position. You must have SOFA status and no COLA/relocation allowances are provided.

Meet Jackie’O!

March is Red Cross Month, and we’re spotlighting one of our most beloved four-legged volunteers—Jackie’O, a certified Red Cross Morale Dog! ❤️🐶

Jackie’O, a 7-year-old Bouvier des Flandres, has been bringing comfort, smiles, and a little bit of magic to our soldiers, families, and staff throughout the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) and specifically at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. From visiting patients at LRMC to stopping by our partner organizations, fire department, and Ramstein Passenger Terminal, Jackie’O helps relieve stress and lift spirits wherever she goes. After hugging Jackie’O through a tough moment, one Airman said: “I needed that.” Moments like these show the true power of our Pet Visitstion Program (PVP).

The best compliment she has ever gotten? “Please come back.” 🥰

March is Red Cross Month! ❤️

A time to recognize & honor the incredible impact of volunteers who help bring hope and support to local communities in need. Today we want to celebrate our amazing volunteers who make a difference every day…

First up, let's give a huge shoutout to our office volunteers: Mindy, Sam, Madalyn, and Bailee!

Combined they have volunteered a total of: 732 hours so far this fiscal year! 🎉

These four are the definition of dedication, hard work, and passion and are at the heart of everything we do! Thank you for being an essential part of the LRMC Red Cross family!

Did you know that Landstuhl American Red Cross has an active Pet Visitation Program? 🐶 We have pups that visit various units in the hospital and that also visit various units around our community. Pet morale/ therapy is when animals are used to help people cope and recover from some physical and mental health conditions. Pet morale/therapy is also used to decrease loneliness and depressive symptoms making people happier overall. If you’re interested in having some of our pups stop by for a morale visit at your unit, please send us an email at Landstuhl@redcross.org.

Did you know that Landstuhl has an Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP) which regularly hosts local blood drives, and your Landstuhl American Red Cross assists? Our next blood drive is on March 10th and 11th and WE NEED YOU! Look for details soon on how to sign up to give blood and also to volunteer.

Blood and platelet donors are needed now! Severe winter weather across the country has forced the cancellation of blood drives, resulting in about 20,000 blood and platelet donations going uncollected since the beginning of the year.

Having the key to someone's heart means knowing CPR.

Show your loved ones how much they mean to you by learning CPR and how to use an AED. These two things give a person the best chance of survival if they go into cardiac arrest.

Signs that a person could be in cardiac arrest:
- They suddenly collapse.
- They are not responsive.
- They are not breathing or only gasping.
