My name is Nathanael Redecop. I'm 24 years old, from Ontario, Canada. For 11 years, scoliosis has been taking my life away — a spine curved 68 degrees, pain after 20 minutes of standing, and hobbies like woodworking now nearly impossible.
I used to be a lifeguard. I once helped save a drowning family and was recognized by the Life Saving Society for it. My back forced me to give that up too.
Without surgery, doctors say I'll be in a wheelchair by 40. Canada's only covered option — full spinal fusion — offers permanent immobility and no guarantee of pain relief. A specialized clinic in Germany offers a real chance at correction and a normal life. The cost is $260,000 CAD — beyond what my family can manage alone.
