On emptiness:
Life is full of potential for meaning. This meaning is provided by the mind of the experiencer. This meaning is a result of the dance between subject and object. How can we integrate this in our magical practice? We understand that our aim in magic is best directed by becoming participants in the play of life. Like the witch of wonderlust said in an interview magick gets you from point A to point B. One of the things that we can hope to understand is the effect of different forces on magick. The first force we can work with is our karma, our karma can help us and can be an obstacle in our way. Karma ripens and a circumstance comes to birth some circumstances can help our goal to manifest and some can hinder them. Understanding that can help us to understand when to break through an obstacle, when to be diplomatic and when to compromise. Then there is astrological forces a good example of that is not to do enchantments during the waining moon and to do them during the waxing moon. The next force is spirits, this I don't know so much about as much as I know about my spirit team and what they are willing to offer. For spirits it is not about compulsion and tyrannically forcing authority it's about building a relationship with these spirits and let them in their own time tell you what part of your life they are willing to help you with.

It very important to understand the meaning of the card but it is as well important to see what the card is showing you. The usual interpretation of the ace of swords is the emergence of an idea that could help resolve some issues. In this card it seems that there are two people forming an alliance. What can we do to strengthen our spirit connection?
One method that I find very efficient is writing down the impulses you feel from your spirits as a quote of something they said. This further develops to understanding what the spirits are communicating through these impulses, memories and thoughts.
Another thing is meditation. Meditation is the basis of magick. When we meditate we allow our mind to flow without obstructing it. I have found the guru yoga on the letter A to be the most beneficial in developing this openness that is required to understand what spirits try to communicate. Will write a post on how to do that meditation to help enhance your openness.

The thin line between psychosis and magickal practice:
What we do can be crazy can be scary but will not make you rich by getting money out of nowhere. You simply can not manifest desires outside the realm of cause and effect even if you cast for money and you find money in the street probability will be so slim that you find a huge amount of money. Perhaps the danger of becoming delusional while practicing magick is because there is this idea is that the more you believe in something the more it happens. Well that may be a tennant in chaos magick but at the end of the day you believing that water can be ice requires you to put water in the freezer first. So what do we do to enhance our magickal results....we understand different forces that influence our results and invest in those. Don't underestimate the power of faith but never let go of that pinch of salt.

One of my previous teachers once told me Exu and Pomba Gira (the spirits I work with) will reach you the way that works for you. So can we expect that spirits will talk to all of us in the same way...perhaps not. In my case I found that spirits reach out to me through impulses and memories. Like I will remember something during the ritual or think of something during the ritual and then my mind translates it into what the spirit wants to communicate. So the question is how to firm the relationship with the given spirit. That's by doing the offerings required by the spirit as the offering is their medium of action and accepting that it's a practice that takes time for you to come closer as well as the spirit coming closer.
P.S I am not an expert on quimbanda but I decided to start writing about my experiences with it. Will write more about how to increase the connection with Exu and Pomba Gira but then again please consult your Tata or Yaya for more information.
