Actin dynamics in invasion and metastasis

Actin dynamics in invasion and metastasis Research group investigating actin reorganization processes in tumor invasion and metastasis with the goal to identify potential therapeutic targets.

Reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton underlies a wide range of biological processes from wound healing to tumor cell invasion. We investigate mechanisms of actin dynamics in invasion and metastasis of epithelial tumors (colon and bladder cancer) and Ewing's sarcoma. Therefore, we apply a wide methodological spectrum from histology and immunohistochemistry to protein biochemistry and in vitro/in vivo metastasis assays.

Extramural funding, part II: we are happy to announce that our research activities on invasion mechanisms in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) will be supported for 2 years by the programme "Innovative Medizinische Forschung" of the University Hospital Münster!

Extramural Funding! - we are very happy to announce that the "Manfred-Stolte-Stiftung für Gastroenterologische Pathologie" has decided to support our research activities on the radiation response of re**al cancer cells for the next 12 months. This will improve our understanding of how tumor cells defend themselves against radiation therapy, with the ultimate goal to target these defense mechanisms pharmaceutically. We will keep you updated!
