The All-in-One PC offers a custom design and functional device concept, including glass printing with logo and front-mounted capacitive standby button based on customer requirements. The fanless, enclosed aluminum housing is manufactured from a solid aluminum block in the ACL milling shop.

In addition, the OR-PC® has the solution-specific equipment e.g., powerful Intel® CoreTM ULV processor and high-quality industrial components, scratch-resistant Corning® Gorilla® Glass with anti-reflexion coating, IP65-rated full glass front with PCAP multi-touch (use with gloves possible), wide color gamut with IPS display, internal power supply and screwless design.

Thanks to the compact design and the combination with a flexible articulated arm, the necessary application parts are always ready to hand for the user and in an optimal position in relation to the patient.

When a user component is removed from its holder, sensors identify its type and condition, activating the appropriate DiVAS software for control and documentation on the display. So, doctors can focus entirely on diagnosis with high-resolution video images.

💡 What are the tasks of the research and development team?

The development of the ACL products like OR-PC®, OR-MD®, and OR-CONSOLE®, requires a close link between the requirements of everyday clinical practice and the technical implementation under strict regulatory standards, like IEC 60601 which define aspects such as electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility and hygiene. Therefore, the focus is on our customers with their individual needs in terms of performance, reliability, and usability.

The R&D department captures these requirements in collaboration with the sales team as well as the product and project office. Our mechanical and electrical engineering experts then analyze these requirements in detail and translate them into customized configurations or new solutions. The result is our high-performance, durable, and safe ACL products that have become indispensable in modern medicine.

💡 What is important for transforming customers' ideas into new, innovative product solutions?

The development process requires a high level of technical expertise, the implementation of technical innovations in interdisciplinary collaboration between the customer, the project team, and the development department, as well as the ability to create ACL product configurations according to customer needs that meet both functional and regulatory requirements.

Yesterday evening, ACL was honored as the winner of the “Via Oeconomica 2025” business award in the ballroom of Leipzig's Old Town Hall in front of numerous guests from the worlds of business, politics, science, and culture. The award is presented annually by the City of Leipzig and the business association "Gemeinsam für Leipzig". Our CEO Thomas Wollesky was delighted to accept the award, as it is given to companies with national appeal, loyalty to their location, innovative strength, and a positive influence on the labor market.

The wall station is used for space-saving wall mounting of the OR-PC® devices up to 32" in combination with a foldable keyboard or keyboard/mouse combination. All cable connections are located inside the mounting. All required interfaces (e.g. USB, network connections) are splash-proof. The milled aluminum wall station can be completely disinfected and meets the highest standards of durability and quality.

: Frank is the Team Lead of the Quality Assurance at our German production site in and has been working at ACL for 25 years.

💡 What are the tasks of the Quality Assurance?

Quality Assurance is essential in the manufacture of ACL devices in order to meet the high standards required in medical technology. Every step of the production process is carefully monitored, from the selection of high-quality materials to precise assembly.

In the final inspection, each device undergoes extensive tests such as functional tests, performance measurements and stress tests to ensure reliability in critical applications. In addition, medical standards such as EN 60601 are tested to guarantee electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Only when these tests have been successfully completed and certified are the ACL devices delivered to the customer.

💡 What does Frank enjoy about his job?

Frank is proud to have been part of ACL since 2000 and to have experienced ACL's development to an international medical technology company with over 100 employees. In addition, Frank appreciates his team colleagues as well as the natural environment and the close distance to his workplace, as he can ride his bike to work.

Last week, the ACL team went on a fantastic company trip to , European Capital of Culture 2025. We started at the Karl-Marx-Monument (Nischl) and then enjoyed a guided tour through the art exhibition by the famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz. Afterwards, we had lunch in the restaurant of Villa Esche, the former residence to textile entrepreneur Herbert Eugen Esche. Finally, we took the cable car to Castle, where we got a guided tour with interesting insights into this memorable building.

Secure data and patient safety with 4kV decoupling of the RJ45 and RS232 interfaces in the Medical Grade ACL OR-PC®:

🔵 3x RJ45 as standard, including 1x 2.5 Gb LAN and 1x 4 kV decoupled
The 2.5-Gb-LAN enables fast and reliable data trans¬mission for real-time imaging and all clinical decision support tasks. Due to the large amounts of data flowing through the clinical workflow, speed is critical to avoid bottlenecks.

🔵 1x RS232 as standard, optionally up to 4x RS232 and each optionally 4kV decoupled
The RS232 interfaces ensure compa¬tibility with legacy devices, which is important to fully utilize the hospital infrastructure, support device inte¬gration and extend the life of older devices.

👉 Why is the 4kV decoupling of the RJ45 and RS232 interfaces so important?
Decoupled interfaces can transmit signals without an electrical connection, so that fault currents are confined to a single device. The 4 kV decoupling thus ensures the safety of users and operating personnel even in the event of high-voltage faults in the vicinity of the devices. This is important for devices that are connected to patients and where electrical safety is of crucial importance. It also pro¬tects sensitive internal components from voltage fluc¬tuations or faults, reducing the risk of failure. 4kV decoupling is distinct from simple 1.5kV decoupling and is necessary for the patient environment.
