Great to be back in Freiburg for the Freiburger Knorpeltage (Jan 23–24)! It has been Edition 14. Always a pleasure to meet old friends and colleagues, enjoy a strong scientific program, and exchange ideas on cartilage repair and joint preservation.
With 250+ participants and a fantastic location, this meeting once again proved why it’s such a special event. Thanks to the Freiburg team — already looking forward to the next edition! Thanks to Hagen, Iaywan, Gisn and Wolfgang !

Last event of the year. It’s always a great honor to be on the road with the German ski team. This year’s World Cup in Gröden once again delivered unforgettable moments — thrilling races, unique insights behind the scenes, and the special atmosphere. Outstanding athletes, an exceptional support team, and true passion for high-performance sport. Grateful to be part of this journey and to experience elite skiing from so close — on and off the slopes. 🎿❄️

Reflecting on an inspiring visit to Oslo 🇳🇴

At the end of October, I had the privilege of being invited to the meeting of the Norwegian Arthroscopy Association in Oslo – thanks to Lars Engebretsen, one of the true international leaders in sports medicine and sports orthopaedics.

Even though this wasn’t my first time there, I’m always impressed by the Scandinavian orthopedic community. The open discussions, high level of critical thinking, and extremely constructive atmosphere make these meetings truly special.

Short Trip to Berlin

✨ From September 11–13, the 42nd AGA Congress took place in Hamburg at the CCH – an outstanding venue and a perfect setting for our annual meeting.

Even more inspiring than the location was witnessing how our society continues to grow and thrive 🙌. The congress was filled with many young faces, excellent scientific input, and a unique atmosphere: relaxed, yet highly constructive, with great discussions throughout 🔬💡.

A heartfelt thank you to the two congress presidents, Christoph Katthagen and Johannes Zellner, and their entire team for the intense but truly rewarding preparation 👏.

The AGA Congress remains a true highlight of the year – already looking forward to Innsbruck 2026! 🇦🇹

After 3 years in which the Berlin Cartilage Symposium took place only virtually due to the Corona Pandemic, it was a pleasure to travel to Berlin once again. Very specific topics, interesting discussions and an event that increasingly succeeds in combining classical medical training with interesting contributions from basic science and also involving important professional groups such as sports science and physiotherapy. It was nice to be there ...
