Today, during the Opening Plenary of UEG Week 2025 in Berlin, WEO President Lars Aabakken received the Lifetime Achievement Award – and we couldn’t be prouder! 🏆

In his speech, he reminded us how important it is to find a great life partner – and a great mentor. He described mentors as:

👉 “people with vision, with insights, with door opening capacity, and just general wisdom.”

At WEO, we truly feel that way. We’ve found that kind of mentor in him.

🌟 New Friendship Forged, Stronger EUS Skills Acquired

WISE 2025 Egyptian Chapter Module One led by co-course director Dr Elsayed Ghoneem concluded with participants from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and more.

Participants were involved in 80 cases with a live demonstration of interventional procedures: one pancreatic duct drainage and one endoscopic deroofing of a symptomatic duodenal duplication cyst.
