🎥 MI Society Workshop | Munich
Prof. Max Cenci, from Radboud University, makes a powerful point:
Minimum Intervention Oral Care (MIOC) is the most effective, patient‑centred approach we have—and it deserves a permanent place in everyday dental practice.
By focusing on prevention, preservation, and minimally invasive strategies, MIOC can transform patient outcomes and help redefine the standard of care worldwide.
This is why experts from Europe and the US came together at the MI Society Consensus Workshop in Munich.

✨ Revisiting the MI Society Consensus Workshop ✨
As we continue our series highlighting insights from the MI Society event held on 1–2 December 2025, today we’re featuring Prof. Niek Opdam.
In this short talk, Prof. Opdam shares why he is honoured to contribute to and support the MIOC movement — emphasising its importance in improving oral care and the urgent need to implement Minimum Intervention principles everywhere.
His perspective reinforces the shared vision that brought experts together from across Europe and the USA: a future where preventive, minimally invasive dentistry becomes the global standard.
More voices from the workshop will follow.

Minimum intervention oral care (MIOC) – evidence to clinical implementation.
The MIS Symposium will highlight the transition from a traditional operative, disease‑focused approach to a salutogenic, sustainable, person‑centred model of care.
The session will explore how scientific and clinical evidence can be translated into daily clinical shared decision‑making to prevent disease, maintain optimal oral and dental health, preserve tooth structure when intervention is necessary, and enhance tooth–restoration complex longevity, improving patient outcomes.
Through focused discussion on philosophy, material selection and consensus‑driven guidance, the symposium bridges research and contemporary practice in modern operative dentistry.
