WHAT KIND OF YOGA

Sashtangi Yoga will lead you through a heart opening journey due to a calm, blissful and deep Yin Yoga practice.

In Yin Yoga, the asanas are held longer than in other yoga practices in order to bring the body into a deep stretch while exerting pressure on the connective tissues.

This pressure can also stimulate the energy channels (meridians) in the body, which are considered important components of the body's energetic system in the tradition of Chinese medicine. The meridians are energy channels that run through the body and support the flow of qi (chi), the body's vital energy.

The compression of connective tissues, muscles and bones in yin yoga can help promote the flow of qi through the meridians by releasing energy blockages in the body.

Holding the asanas also increases blood flow to certain areas in the body, providing oxygen and nutrients, which in turn can help improve the flow of energy in the body.

The practice of Yin Yoga is therefore also a way to harmonize the flow of energy in the body and restore balance in the energetic body system. These approaches are based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in which Qi (Chi) is considered a vital energy that influences the health and well-being of the body.

Sashiva is a yogic alchemist who teaches different styles, from hatha vinyasa over yin to kundalini, combined with some expertise in philosophy, psychology, astro physics and quantum mechanics.

In his classes, he takes his students on a deep journey to themselves, to the divine magic within.
