This stance is also called the ‘jetlag’ pose. In a figurative sense, this is the position we land in. Only by heavily pressing the feet into the ground can balance be maintained and the spine held upright. The feet, legs and stomach area are active and the whole body is held compactly and close to the ground. Arriving is possible. In yoga, this is the perfect asana to strengthen the first chakra, the root chakra. At this first level of consciousness, how we stand in the world becomes tangible. If our roots are strong and we trust in life, we are able to go through life naturally and confidently. PICTURE: Red Socks from Jeppe Hein: I am right here right now
I am right here right now is a series of watercolours with a wide variety of motifs, ranging from geometric shapes, simple forms and patterns to everyday imagery like socks, birds and a recurring face. In between the pictorial drawings, text excerpts record short snippets of thought in diary form. The writings express recorded experiences and impressions that question contemporary lifestyle and art in a sometimes humorous or ironic way. In an attempt to start a dialogue between the work and its viewer, the watercolours address the viewer directly and give personal insight into the artist’s relationship towards his work and its public environment in the art world. # # # published by Koenig Books London Ltd

Spring is in the air, and so is new hope around more freedom and connection with others. Connection is something we all need, and something that has been missing for many of us over the last year.

Spring is the time for rebirth and renewal. A time to wake up out of your hibernation, stretch those bones, and slowly start back into life.

In this special 2-hour workshop, you will be led by the entire Yoga Collective team, each taking a turn to bring their unique qualities, personalities and knowledge in a part of the series.

This will be a slow buildup from the "winterschlaf" (hibernation) stage, through waking up and beginning to find your feet and grounding again. It will follow with pranayama and a short meditation to help everything settle and integrate into the body. This class is suitable for all levels.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday!

There are eight points of the body which touch the ground: toes, knees, breast, hands and chin. The pose resembles a deep forward bow before oneself and all other living creatures. Those who practise yoga embark on a journey to live in harmony with themselves and the world. This journey is represented as an eight-stage path in the Yoga Sutra by the Hindu scholar Patanjali. The eight stages describe different aspects of spiritual existence and together form a unity.
1. yamas - connecting with the environment 2. niyamas -focusing on oneself 3. asana - relating to the body 4. pranayama - engaging with one`s breath 5. pratyahara - exploring the senses 6. dharana - enhancing concentration 7.dhyana - learning meditation 8. samadhi - the highest: achieving inner freedom
