WTO: High productive manufacturing of Gears at EMO Hannover

At EMO, the high productive manufacturing of gears with WTO Gear Hobbing units will be presented on several CNC turning centers.

The WTO Gear Hobbing unit is characterized by high stiffness and runout accuracy. The unit can be used flexibly with milling cutters of different sizes thanks to interchangeable milling arbors.

The WTO hobbing unit can be seen at the following stands on the respective machines:

Official opening of the new US headquarters😊

On September 10, partners and customers gathered for the official opening of the new WTO building in Charlotte, USA. Visitors were greeted by inviting offices, the service center, and the showroom featuring a 2025 Ford Mustang NASCAR.
But the most important thing was the opportunity to exchange ideas with our partners and customers.

In addition to touring the US headquarters, 30 successful years in the US market were celebrated. Sascha Tschiggfrei, CEO and owner, started for today's success in 1995 with the founding of WTO Inc.

Grand Opening of the new US headquarters and celebration of 30 successful years in the USA 🎉

On September 09, invited guests, project participants, and partners gathered to inaugurate the new building, designed by the renowned architectural firm Grossmann Group and realized by Merriman Schmitt Architects and InterCon Building Company. The new headquarters symbolizes 30 successful years in the North American market. The American subsidiary WTO Inc. was founded in 1995 by Sascha Tschiggfrei, second-generation owner of the company. His mission continues to be to supply German precision tools combined with first-class, customer-oriented service. 🔧

The new 22,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility features modern offices, a fully equipped factory operated service center, extensive warehouse space, and a modern showroom for providing product training.

“Our new headquarters reflects our continued growth and dedication to serving customers in North America with fast response times, quality, and professional after-sales support our customers expect from a global market leader,” said Sascha Tschiggfrei, CEO and President of WTO.

"TOP 100" award ceremony in Mainz

TOP 100 mentor Ranga Yogeshwar congratulated WTO on being named a "TOP 100 Innovator". Dr. Wolfgang Zimmermann, Marketing Director of WTO, was represented by proxy at the official award ceremony.
The award ceremony took place during the German SME Summit, which was held in Mainz, Germany on Friday 27, June 2025. WTO is one of the top innovators for the second time. The science journalist, Ranga Yogeshwar, is accompanying the innovation competition, which is being held for the 32nd time, as a mentor.
In the scientific selection process, WTO impressed in particular in the size category C (=more than 200 employees) in the category “External Orientation/Open Innovation".

This award is only given to particularly innovative companies. The right innovation strategy and the innovative strength of a company are deciding for the success in the TOP 100.

Congratulations to WorldSkills on 75 years as !! 🥳

We are proud to have been a supplier at the 47th WorldSkills in Lyon in September 2024.

Over 1,500 young participants from all over the world competed in Lyon in 59 disciplines, including CNC turning and CNC milling. All the 14 high-precision universal CNC turning centers were equipped with precision tool holders from WTO.

WorldSkills has been held since 1950: A unique and inspiring performance comparison of non-academic professions.

Girls'Day 2025 at WTO!

As part of the German Girls' Day, we welcomed eight talented girls to our headquarters in Ohlsbach yesterday.

Girls'Day / Boys'Day gives girls an insight into traditional male professions and boys into traditional female professions.

After an exciting insight into our company, including a tour and a small breakfast afterwards, the girls were allowed to get started: Together with our apprentices, each of them built an apple peeling machine! 🍎⚙️🔧

Afterwards, they had a delicious lunch in the WTO Bistro and at the end, nameplates were laser-cut for the apple peeling machines.

All the girls did a really great job 👏 - It was a pleasure to have you here!

Our apprentices build an automated marble run with a robot 🤖 🚀

Last week, our apprentices Kurt and Arti (1st year) built and automated a marble run with a robot at the company headquarters in Ohlsbach. 🔧 It wasn't just about having fun, but also about getting to know the robot and laying important foundations for the large industrial robots in our Industry 4.0 hall.

With creativity, teamwork and a lot of enthusiasm for technology, the two of them put together an impressive automation project. 💡🔥

WTO USA is proud to announce the completion and opening of its new North American Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. The impressive 21,600 square foot, state-of-the art building includes modern offices, a fully equipped repair and service area, an extensive warehouse and a showroom to perfectly serve its growing customer base in North America.

To comply with our global corporate sustainability goals, solar panels were installed on the entire roof. The solar energy system generates around 250,000 kWh of electricity annually and more than 6.8 million kWh over its expected lifetime of 30 years. This corresponds to a saving of over 5,300 tons of carbon dioxide. WTO USA will therefore generate a large part of its electricity consumption.

WTO USA was founded in 1995 as WTO Inc. by Sascha Tschiggfrei. Since then, we have been serving the North American market directly on site with our factory owned sales & service center. Our customers benefit from competent after-sales support and a professional repair service provided by our own specialists. The new building provides the foundation for further expansion in the important North American market.
