Which Meditation Type is the right for me?

In our work we guide curious minds and organizations to become more mindful. We found that some techniques work better than others. And they are not necessarily the ones that you might be familiar with.

Imagine going into the gym and only training your arms. Would this make you fit? With meditation today it is quite similar - we are training our focus and productivity. But we are missing out on the benefits and joy of more advanced mental training.

The way we train our mind matters. According to leading scientists we can group mediation into three types of trainings that train specific parts in the brain - Focus, Connection & Insight.

While you already know already the focus-based meditations, others might be new to you. Beyond simple mindfulness training most advanced meditators use meditation techniques that help them to find more joy in life - for example by training their empathy and their skills in observation.

We would like to introduce you to some of the more advanced techniques that make an impact on the people we work with. On our website you will find an overview of which meditation type might be the right one for you.

Looking inside ourselves is key to the joys of life. We can uncover what our needs are; we can find joy in simply being; We can find answers to questions where we didn't find answers elsewhere.

From our own experience developing a deep relationship with ourselves is the cornerstone to depth in all other walks of life: deeper friendships, clearer understanding of our contribution to our work and communities. Even more, a serenity and peace with ourselves that we didn't know exists and that we would not trade for anything in life.

There are a myriad of ways to train introspection: but some have passed the test of time and are can be found in many traditions all over the world. Those are the one's we are focusing in The Art of Meditation. We consider thus introspection a form of inner science.

In some ways all Art of Meditation teachers are inner scientists. We all spent months in silent meditation retreats, spent years enquiring with meditation practices from different traditions and some of us even with more intense practices like going into complete darkness for days.

This is what inner scientists do - they are curious to discover and sharpen tools for introspection, focus, intimacy and depth. And they find great joy in teaching and sharing those tools with others.
