I was first introduced to yoga in 2002 after the birth of my 3rd child. Since then I have had a dedicated practice. I began teaching yoga in 2009 after completing a 200-hour teacher training in Bali at Radiantly Alive. I then completed my second 300-hour teacher training certification in Munich at AirYoga in 2011. In 2015 I completed my third 300-hour teacher training in Munich at PhysioFlow Yoga. All the trainings are recognized by the Yoga Alliance. I teach just outside of Munich (in Starnberg) at two lovely locations. My classes offer students a challenging yet nurturing experience of connecting more deeply with body, mind and heart. My classes incorporate clear alignment principles with full-hearted themes that help each individual student cultivate mindfulness and self-awareness, both on and off the mat. All my classes are taught in English and are welcoming, fun, and engaging. They include meditation and pranayama (yogic breathing) to offer students a well-balanced and grounding practice. I teach a vinyasa flow style and all levels are welcome!

Are you challenged with a deep butt-to-heels squat?

Why are we so limited in our western world with getting into a deep squat and why is this so important for our health and longevity?

Do your heels pop up or do you round your back, get stuck halfway down or just feel intense discomfort trying this pose?

Squatting is one of the most basic human movements. Because of chairs, seated toilets, and elevated shoes, most of us have lost the ability to do a full squat… and this is the bad news.

The good news is that YOU CAN get it back with some simple targeted stretches to work on either hip flexion (the knee towards chest movement) or ankle dorsiflexion (V stretch at the front of the ankle while keeping heel on the floor) .

Hip mobility is the most important movement for a functional human; eg picking things up from the floor, tying shoes or just getting up from a chair as we age. Why is it important? You will increase your strength, develop your lower back and pelvis stability, and simply increasing your motion, flexibility and health-span that will give you your best looking, feeling and moving body yet.

Below I share the basics to help you get started:
💥Make time for your best squat and start by taking it as deep as it goes and don’t worry about what it looks like.

💥Make an effort to hold the position for 2 min. or even up to 10 min. without force or pain. (tip: a great time to do this is while watching TV).

💥Use a stable structure… door frame or table leg to pull on (and the assistance of blocks or blankets). Find a relaxing breath (inhale a count of 4 and exhale a count of 8). The breath helps to open up the body in those tight parts.

💥Keep your chest lifted, your spine long and relax your jaw.

💥Draw up on the pelvic floor (mulabandha) and active your abdominals (navel to spine) for that core stability.

Little by little you will start to create space in your hips and ankles to deepen your squat so that you feel physical freedom, greater mobility, and joy for a longevity lifestyle.

Do you want to slow the ageing process, reduce inflammation and feel better overall?

Then let me introduce you to this powerful superfood called BROCCOLI SPROUTS, than can help you do just that!

I started sprouting this superfood last year when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, adding them to my daily Alkagizer; aka my morning green smoothie.

Why are they considered a superfood? In my own research to understand my diagnosis better and to learn how I could take my health and wellness into my own hands and find natural ways to heal, I learned that Broccoli sprouts pack a lot of fibre and protein into just a few calories and are bursting with vitamins and other nutrients, including: vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium and iron.
Not only that, but they also contain very high levels of sulforaphanes which protect your cells against inflammation, and significantly removes toxins from the body.

Broccoli sprouts are said to be a very powerful source for anti-aging—and for good reason! In our society, we are constantly exposed to toxins that stress our body… from the polluted air we breathe (like benzenes, common in exhaust), to those we consume in our food (like pesticides). These stressors affect our bodies at the cellular level, ultimately causing damage to our mitochondria (the "powerhouse of the cell"), and inflammation throughout our body, all of which contribute to ageing over time. 

These young plants are grown from seed and eaten when they’re just a few days old. This is beauty about these seeds… I sprout a fresh batch weekly because they grow so quickly. I always eat them raw in my smoothies, salads or on sandwiches, so their delicate balance of nutrition isn’t damaged by cooking. They add a pleasant crunch to foods but be warned… they are quite bitter.
Focus on eating cruciferous vegetables daily to slow down the ageing at the cellular level so you can look and feel your best well into your golden years and to help prevent disease.

After a long awaited time (2.75 years to be exact), I am finally an official Certified Wim Hof Method Instructor! With so much excitement, gratitude, joy, diligence, patience (the pandemic, which got in my way), love and support from all of my amazing teachers .whm.z.o.brabant, and beautiful tribe (from 26 different countries)… I can say I DID IT!

Thank you to everyone (my family & friends) who cheered me on along this journey.

It was a very special and impactful experience in Poland. So much inspiration, knowledge, high vibes, connection and growth. I am so excited to get started with Fundamental Workshops and share this transformational Method with as many people as possible, together with my fellow ‘Hoffer’ and dear friend .

Thank you to Wim for your mission, passion, dedication and love to change the world one person at a time and creating this method for all of us (official hoffers) to do the same.

Yoga is a powerful vehicle for CHANGE.
As you build strength you start to believe in your own POTENTIAL.

YOGA is SO MANY THINGS.
But one thing I know for sure
is that my yoga practice shows me daily the importance and value of keeping my body
STRONG, MOBILE & FLEXIBLE

Studies show that adults ages 40 years and above face a higher risk as they start to lose up to 8% of muscle mass every decade. Yoga is what we refer to as a bodyweight exercise. So if you are not lifting weights (which I recommend you also be doing if you are in this age bracket), then a YOGA STRENGTH practice is where it's at!

Feb. 4th is world cancer day! This is a world wide day to raise awareness around cancer, improve education and learn what we can do to prevent it. Through raising awareness, we reduce fear, increase understanding, dispel myths and misconceptions and change behaviours and attitudes.

We are all, in some way or another, affected by this silent whisper of a disease. Maybe you have had it, or are going through it, or lost someone due to it. Remember cancer does not discriminate! For this reason it is so important to create a lifestyle that is one step ahead of this disease.

I know, easier said than done, as I myself live a super healthy lifestyle and it too wreaked havoc in my body, showing up as breast cancer. I have been personally affected by this disease and I am doing all I can to stay on top of it, to educated myself, to take responsibility for my body to stay healthy and doing my best to spread awareness.

More than one third of cancer cases can be prevented. Another third can be cured if detected early and treated properly. By implementing resource-appropriate strategies on prevention, early detection and treatment, millions of lives can be saved every year.

The problem is we often react when it‘s too late! We wait until we are struck. Start today by focusing on your heath and make daily changes NOW! Your health is the foundation to having a quality life. Focus on nutrient dense foods, frequent movement, living mindfully, getting rid of toxins in your body and home, creating good sleep habits, nurturing deep connections with others and having a sense of purpose.

We all deserve a long life of energy and vitality, and while we can’t control everything, we can control the choices we make. You can choose a disease focus approach, or you can follow a health focus approach.

October is Breast Cancer awareness Month!

The topic of breast cancer was rarely on my radar until this past spring when I was diagnosed with Breast cancer! So now, I want to get the word out to those I can reach and share the importance of regular breast examinations.
I encourage you to get informed, educate yourself, do breast-self exams, visit your Gynecologist and get timely mammograms to help detect early breast cancer.

I would never in my wildest dreams have believed that I would get diagnosed with breast cancer!
But what I have learned is that breast cancer doesn’t not discriminate! It can happen to any one of us!

Breast cancer is not in my family’s history, I live the healthiest of lifestyles, I have positive thoughts, I move my body everyday, I eat whole foods, a plant based diet and good fats & protein, I have relatively low stress in my life… this all sounds ‘cancer proof, right??? and still, cancer got the best of me showing up as a lump in my breast.

So, with great courage and the utmost trust in the process of life I am gracefully accepting this new reality & journey that I am on.
I believe that I am stronger than this challenge and will kick this cancers ass!!!

And, if this unfortunate situation befalls you, please get informed, educate yourself and get 3, 4 or even 5 other professional opinions. There are many routes to take on this journey so be sure to listen to your inner guidance to aligned with what your path is for healing!
And remember there is no wrong or right, this is your journey.
If you can let go of fear and step into trusting in the process of life, you will get through this with greater ease, clarity and acceptance.

Stay positive and strong and surround yourself with encouraging, hopeful, positive & faithful people. This will help in your healing process physically, mentally and spiritually. And please know you are not alone.

Did you realise that every conscious breath you take makes you stronger, healthier and feel more alive?

In our search for greater health and vitality, we continually look externally for all the ways we can better our lives… but truth is, what we’ve been searching for is already a vital and powerful part of who we are… OUR BREATH!

That INHALE was the first thing we did when we arrived here on earth and our EXHALE will be the last thing we do when we leave this earth. And for all these beautiful years in between our breath guides us, supports us, sustains us, and keeps us alive without even having to do much thinking.

What an incredible gift our breath is to us. The power of our breath has been practiced, studied and written about in many ancient text dating back to 800 BCE and has shown us that theres is more to it than just inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide.

There is a magical and spiritual quality of our breath which helps us relieve stress and anxiety, improve sleep, boost digestion, and balance energy in our busy lives so we can feel more peace. Quite simply put, your breath is your life force, and when we breathe, we expand this life force and feel more vibrant.

Starting January 2021, I’m taking on 3 new private clients and I’m offering a free Discovery Session if you think this might help with your current health challenges.

The Discovery Session is just 20-minutes, and we can meet via video call. I’ll share with you the basic principle of the practice, we’ll do some foundation exercises together, and we’ll see how you feel.

Finding the beauty of inner peace and quiet within this season.
As the days become shorter and the nights longer, I become more still.

The winter solstice is a time of quiet energy, where you get the opportunity to look within yourself and focus on what you want and need.   It's a time to set goals and intentions for the coming year, to examine and let go of our past, and to make changes within ourselves. The solstice is essentially tied to a personal awakening.

This is one of the greatest gifts yoga has taught me and it deepens more and more the quieter I get. My flow has slowed. My awareness has deepened. My priorities have shifted.

Take time for solitude and reflection... and be still.
Not easy but worth the effort to figure out how.
It may be one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself as well.  
As this season transitions  into winter solstice next week, this is a good opportunity to practice presence and going inward. 

In solitude there is healing.
Speak to your soul.
Listen to your heart.
Sometimes in the absence noise we find the answers.

For some it’s meditation, for some it’s a walk in nature, for some it’s journaling…

I am celebrating getting older! Sounds crazy, right?

I have come to realize that with each new day, my appreciation for life intensifies. My gratitude for what really matters deepens. My awareness in each moment connects me more genuinely to my soul. The lessons in my life make more sense. Learning, understanding, inquiring, expands my curious mind. The beauty of nature fascinates me. The pain from my past lessens. Joy, in every form stands before me when I open my eyes. My breath shows me the power & potential inside of me. The people who really matter fill my heart with love. Everyday is a new beginning. What I choose today will determine my tomorrow. Feeling good in my body & mind is my choice. Age is JUST a number.

There is so much beauty in growing older… I am here to celebrate it.
