Love letter to my beloved teacher: T. Krishnamacharya.
On 18.11.was the birthday of T. Krishnamacharya (born in 1888) and I felt his presence in my heart very strongly❤️.
Krishnamacharya was convinced that Yoga is Indian’s greatest gift to the world. He was the first one who swept aside prohibitions laid down thousands of years ago againts teaching of Yoga to women. He also said, that women were the most trustworthy preservers and transmitters of yogic teachings.
He was an ayurvedic doctor, a healer, a great teacher, a loving father and husband, for me a Guru but he never wanted to be called a Guru or Yoga teacher. Once he said “The moment you say you are a guru, then you are not a guru”.
He devoted his life to Yoga and its practices with an open mind and fresh insight. He carried within him the vast lineage of yoga’s deepest traditions, yet he met each person with a sensitivity so personal that it felt as if the practice had been created just for them.
To speak of Krishnamacharya is to speak of the beauty of discipline, devotion, and possibility. His legacy lives in every mindful breath, every intentional movement, and every moment we remember that the path of yoga is ultimately a path toward ourselves.
