When was the last time you hugged a tree?

Imagine so many pass by and never pay attention to their surrounding.

Trees have feelings too and love to be hugged.
I tell them every single time „love, light and protection“ 3 times. And I have some trees on my path I do this regularly with.

Give more.

Love more.

Live more.

Make this world a better place. ♥️🍀✨

And yes, there are countries in this world you can do this with people. Or they do it with you. Out of the blue. There’s nothing better then a hug from a stranger. Lots of love to Peru, where this is quite normal. At least in Pisac.

Fast, fearless and impossible to ignore. Fire Horse years are all about momentum and bold self-expression. This is not a year to sit quietly on the sidelines.

Tree hugging isn’t just symbolic or “woo-woo“.

Several biological and psychological mechanisms explain why it can feel calming and restorative.

🍀 Nervous system regulation (parasympathetic activation)

Gentle pressure, stillness, and slow breathing while hugging a tree activates the parasympathetic nervous system:

Result: lower heart rate, reduced stress hormones (cortisol)

Similar effect to deep-pressure touch used in somatic therapy.

🍀 Phytoncides: tree chemicals that affect humans

Trees release phytoncides (volatile organic compounds, e.g. terpenes).

Research shows exposure can:

- increase natural killer (NK) cell activity (immune function)
- reduce anxiety and stress
- improve mood

This is one mechanism behind forest bathing (Shinrin-yoku).

🍀 Grounding & proprioception

Physical contact with a solid, unmoving object:

- improves body awareness
- stabilizes balance and posture
- reduces mental rumination

This is similar to techniques used for anxiety, trauma, and dissociation.

🍀 Sensory integration

Tree hugging engages:

- touch (bark texture)
- smell (resins, leaves)
- temperature
- subtle sound dampening

Multi-sensory input helps the brain shift out of threat mode.

🍀 Psychological effects (not mystical, but real)

- Nature contact increases alpha brain waves (calm focus)
- Reduces activity in the default mode network (less overthinking)
- Increases feelings of connection, safety, and perspective

Importantly: the brain responds even if you don’t believe in it.

Grids dissolve into prisms,
prisms into living geometry.
The air itself becomes a lens,
and every breath shifts the pattern.

It’s winter light -
