Sometimes, one person can change the way you see everything. For me, that person was Alfred.
He was incredibly knowledgeable, a gifted teacher, and above all a truly kind human being. No matter how busy he was, he always had a moment for you. If you had a question, a doubt, or needed guidance, he would listen and offer insight in a way that felt both simple and profound. I met him at several conferences, where he was connected with people from all over the world, but what stayed with me most was not just his knowledge—it was his presence.
I remember one moment very clearly. I was at the very beginning of my kinesiology journey, full of curiosity and eagerness, and at the same time completely overwhelmed. I felt like I was standing in front of an unclimbable mountain, seeing only problems instead of possibilities. Alfred didn’t know me, but somehow he saw me. He took the time to sit with me, to listen, and to talk things through. And slowly, something shifted. He didn’t overwhelm me with more information—he simply brought perspective, and with it, a sense of calm.
I remember wondering how someone could know exactly what to say to a person they had never met. And I realised that he wasn’t trying to fix anything. He was present, he tuned in, and he followed his heart.
That moment has stayed with me ever since. It continues to guide me in the way I work and in the kind of practitioner—and person—I want to be.
Thank you, Alfred 💛
