It’s been two years that I started dedicating much time to being outside and connect to the Earth beings.
This past year was all about water: about springs and rain, oceans and clouds. The intrinsic nature of water is to flow, to move and to converge on its way down. It spreads all over the hill where I live now.
So I had to become what they call a "walking sit spot”.
Inspired by the work of extraordinary artist Wolfgang Saus, I learned to sing overtones. Overtones harmonize the two brain halves, and as I understand it, move the brain waves into a lower frequency where we can begin to hear our own intuition. And the subtle voices of the other beings.
I brought a simple tune to a healing spring where I used to live and sang to her. My very rudimentary overtone skills became an offering to the waters, to woo them and to be in relationship.
I am always concerned about water shortages and droughts, and I asked the spring what I can do. I heard: As long as you sing to me I will always be plentiful.
And she was. Her stream remained strong and powerful even through the driest parts of the year.
What the other beings, water too, need from us most is love. To honor what they give, to appreciate their generosity, and to express gratitude over and over again.
This way, the waters will always be with us.
