What if everything stays the way it is? Or what if everything is different than it was?
When you realize that the dress you are wearing on your body (what you are doing no longer feels in harmony with your being and has become more and more a matter of functioning) is now very uncomfortable to wear, it pinches and snags here and there and has gone out of fashion. And yet you have had it in your closet for so long and you don't want to part with it 😉
..and suddenly you realize that things can be different here and now.
When you can really clearly see for yourself for the first time - you have done something completely differently and not ignored yourself. You could have functioned as always, even if you feel that this is not really in harmony with your being. But this time it was different - something lit up in you to see this as an opportunity.
And you feel how much strength it takes to bear and hold on to all of this, because all the pain of the old experience that is connected to it is writhing through your body so intensely, coming up, wanting to be seen, held and understood. The pain and fear that with your decision you will be telling the other person to say no because the yes is much bigger for you. The fear of suddenly feeling alone, excluded, denied love, the ground falling away, etc.
The fears that you are afraid of because they cause you to feel so helpless and at the mercy of others.
On the one hand, it really fills you with pride that YOU did this - YOU all by yourself. WOW - what strength it can release! Because you see things and the paths you take and take with different eyes and a different understanding and that it is important to look at the shadows and to be able to recognize them.
And on the other hand, you feel this old pain of dependence on love that you needed so much as a child...
Another step towards yourself... listening to yourself, being compassionate and present with yourself and your fears. That is shadow work, trauma healing.
For me, there is always a beautiful saying from Rumi that helps me to see this as a gift, a wonderful opportunity. That is where healing occurs.
The wound is the place where the light enters you. - The wound is the place where the light enters you.
Perhaps it will give you confidence, a smile or confirmation on your way. Whatever it is for you, much love for you, Iwa
And Nessi Gomes also describes it so wonderfully in her song: Diamonds and Demons. Here is a small excerpt.
Diamonds and demons I fight with at night
Thinking only the light is right
This is misguided
I have to see it all
There is a place for it all
But let me tell you
Let your darkness through
It's upon you
It's your beauty too
…ITS YOUR BEAUTY TOO!
