With a Master’s degree in Packaging Development Management, Nawal brings with her a solid foundation for the complex requirements of our industry.
Throughout her studies, she focused on sustainable packaging solutions and is now expanding her expertise by focusing on the upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
Her interest in sustainability, combined with her growing specialisation in the PPWR, enables her to support our clients in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.

The packaging may be technically sophisticated, but if it is not intuitive for the user or impractical for everyday clinical use, what good is that?

At Pharca, we place great importance on ensuring that our solutions are not only technically convincing but also intuitive and practical.

With our test setup, we have created the opportunity to gather usability feedback from real users. The participants are trained HCPs (Healthcare Professionals) who work daily in clinical operating room environments. This allows us to simulate realistic usage scenarios and obtain immediate, practice‑based feedback. The insights gained flow directly into the ongoing development of our packaging solutions.

This way, we ensure our packaging is not only innovative but also user-friendly.

New in the Prototype Lab: Formech 508DT!

We’re excited to announce the expansion of our prototype lab with the addition of the Formech 508DT thermoforming machine. Combined with our CAD software and 3D printer, we can now produce custom blister prototypes on-site in no time.

Thermoforming involves heating a plastic sheet until it becomes pliable, then pulling it over a mold and using vacuum to precisely adapt it to the contours. Once cooled, the material retains the desired shape.

“From idea to patient – what matters in medical packaging”

Last Wednesday, we had the great opportunity to be part of Packopen at the Stuttgart Media University (HdM)! 🚀

Packopen is a series of events organized by the Packaging Technology program, where companies can introduce themselves to students and provide exciting insights into their everyday work. We talked about the special requirements and challenges of medical packaging. The students also had the opportunity to try their hand at aseptic presentation, which demonstrated the importance of user-friendly design in medical packaging!

We’re looking back on an exciting day at the trade fair, filled with engaging conversations, fresh ideas, and valuable encounters. The exchange with experts, innovators, and industry peers was truly enriching for us.

One of the highlights at our booth: our wheel of fortune and giveaways, which not only sparked great conversations but also brought lots of smiles to visitors’ faces! 🎁

Even though autumn is just around the corner, we would like to recap our team event in August, because it was quite something! 🌞

We kicked off the day in a relaxed mood, with one twist: no one knew where we were headed! The first stop? The climbing forest! High up in the treetops, we challenged ourselves, had loads of fun, and enjoyed the fresh forest air – with pleasantly cool temperatures as a bonus.

After the athletic challenge, a culinary highlight awaited us: a cooking class with Andreas Miessmer! From grilled watermelon with fresh goat cheese to juicy steak and chocolate tartlets from the grill – it was a feast for all the senses. Cooking together was not only delicious, but also a real highlight—full of laughter, good conversation, and team spirit. It was a wonderful moment of togetherness that we will remember for a long time to come.

A big thank you for the great organization, the surprises, and the wonderful memories!

With a master's degree in packaging technology, Marcel brings with him a solid foundation for the complex requirements of our industry. His passion for medical technology emerged during his internship, when he gained his first insights into this challenging and exciting field. Meanwhile, his thesis work in process and mechanical engineering sparked his interest in the technical implementation of innovative packaging solutions.

He then gained his first professional experience in the pharmaceutical sector, actively collaborating on innovative packaging solutions — a path he now wishes to continue with us.

What sets Marcel apart is his passion for bringing people with different perspectives and backgrounds together to develop ideas and successfully implement interdisciplinary projects.
