✨ New insights into permamem®

A recent study by Franović et al. provides new microscopic and molecular insights into permamem®, our blue synthetic d-PTFE membrane designed for open wound healing, revealing its microbial and biofilm profile during open-healing socket preservation.

Key findings:
✓ Microscopic analysis showed a smoother biofilm architecture with reduced tissue cell adhesion.
✓Molecular analysis revealed lower microbial diversity and fewer opportunistic pathogens.

This dense barrier membrane supports a safe healing environment during open wound healing by promoting a less diverse, pathogen-reduced biofilm profile.

Regeneration of a severe infra-osseous defect with cerabone® plus and mucoderm®

This case, performed by Dr. @‌Arthur Brincat, involved a 13 mm periodontal pocket with a missing lingual bony wall, presenting a challenge for regeneration. A unilateral lingual flap with papilla preservation was elevated, and all inflammatory tissue was removed. The missing lingual wall was reconstructed using mucoderm® as a soft tissue scaffold, and the defect was filled with cerabone® plus for predictable bone regeneration. Primary closure was achieved with horizontal mattress and single interrupted sutures.

At 6 months, probing depth reduced from 13 mm to 2 mm with no soft tissue recession, and periapical radiograph confirmed stable bone augmentation.

This case demonstrates the effective combination of cerabone® plus and mucoderm® in achieving stable, long-term hard and soft tissue regeneration.
