Immediate implant placement in the aesthetic zone – a predictable GBR approach 🦴✨
This clinical case involved a cracked root with gingival recession at tooth 11, confirmed by CBCT as an oblique root fracture. Due to the compromised prognosis of the natural tooth, an atraumatic extraction followed by immediate implant placement was selected to preserve hard and soft tissue architecture.

An implant was placed directly into the extraction socket. The buccal gap was managed using cerabone® granules, providing a stable osteoconductive scaffold, and covered with a Jason® membrane to support guided bone regeneration. Primary wound closure was achieved with sutures.

Provisional restorations were used to maintain aesthetics and guide soft-tissue healing. After one year, CBCT evaluation demonstrated stable peri-implant tissues and successful graft integration.

This case highlights the predictable of long-term implant success in the aesthetic zone.

Congratulations to Dr. Alejandro Lanis on this outstanding case of ridge preservation using NOVAMag® SHIELD and cerabone®!

In this case, a patient presented with a severely compromised upper right central incisor, characterized by significant probing depth, advanced bone loss, and complete resorption of the buccal bone wall. Following tooth extraction, ridge preservation was performed using a fully resorbable NOVAMag® SHIELD, contoured into an L-shape and positioned between the soft tissue and residual buccal bone - without additional fixation - to support the buccal wall defect. cerabone® was used for bone augmentation.

Radiographic and clinical analysis at 4 months post-restorations delivery demonstrated stable peri-implant bone levels, excellent soft tissue integration, and highly satisfying aesthetic outcomes
