We are proud and grateful to be part of this project together with skilled professionals in Lithuania 😄
In February, the EU project “Seeing the Child” officially launched, and last week we visited Lithuania, where we met the dedicated professionals who work every day to see and protect children who have been exposed to sexual abuse.
It was an honor for Janne Østergaard Hagelquist to give a keynote presentation at the major opening conference and to lead an intensive training programme for a group of professionals, focusing on the application of mentalization and the STORM model in work with children and families affected by abuse.
“Seeing the Child” is an EU-funded project that over the next two years will strengthen the systemic response to child sexual abuse throughout Lithuania. We are international partners in the project and contribute with mentalization-based training and supervision for the professionals working closest to the children.
Seeing the child is about mentalizing the individual child, being trauma-informed, and fundamentally about human presence and the courage to stay with what is difficult.
Thank you to all the wonderful professionals in Lithuania for your openness, commitment, and warmth. We look forward to everything we will create together.
