NEW VIDEO COURSE 😍
Bringing Psychotherapy to Life – through caring connections

The Center for Mentalization presents an exclusive video course with Jon G. Allen, one of the most influential theorists in mentalization and psychotherapy.

The course is grounded in the fundamental understanding that psychotherapy only truly comes to life through caring and meaningful connections between people. The focus is on the therapist as a person and on the relational craft that goes beyond methods and techniques.

The video course explores:
• The therapist’s personal development and its importance for professional practice
• Care as a central clinical and ethical concept
• Relational judgment rather than technical skill
• Moral and ethical domains in therapy
• Hope, meaning, and relationship as core elements in psychotherapy
• The metaphor of the bridge between therapy and life
• The Slade test as a reflective tool for effective therapeutic approaches

The course is intended for therapists and professionals working with people in vulnerable and exposed positions who wish to strengthen the relational foundation of their practice.

Monday we held our conference on Teenagers and Mentalization 🎉

The day featured a series of exciting and inspiring presentations on:
• Mentalization-based work with externalizing adolescents and young people with criminal behavior, by Svenja Taubner
• Mentalization and autism, by Nadjia Tamechmecht
• Substance abuse and mentalization, by Susanna De Lima
• Teenagers and mentalization – including how parents can mentalize both themselves and their teenagers, by Sheila Redfern
• A closing presentation on our treatment manual MindMe, by Janne Østergaard Hagelquist

The day unfolded exactly as we had wished and hoped, in the most wonderful surroundings at Nyborg Strand Hotel.

🎬 Transdiagnostic Work – Mentalizing and AMBIT with Dr. Dickon Bevington

It is a great honour for the Center for Mentalization to present this inspiring video course together with Dr. Dickon Bevington, one of the leading figures in mentalization-based practice and the founder of the AMBIT model (Adaptive Mentalization-Based Integrative Treatment).

This video course offers an inspiring introduction to how mentalizing and the AMBIT approach can be used when working with children, young people, and adults in vulnerable situations, who often present with multiple diagnoses and complex challenges, and where many professionals need to work together.

What does the video course include?

▪️ An understanding of the transdiagnostic perspective – how challenges across diagnoses can be addressed through mentalizing.

▪️ Insight into the core principles of the AMBIT model, and how mentalizing can be actively applied in work with:

the young person / service user

one’s own team

the wider network

learning within practice

▪️ Reflections on how to create collaboration and build epistemic trust across complex systems.

▪️ Concrete examples of how AMBIT can strengthen relationships, professional reflection, and organizational coherence.
